Quite an ironic post, talking about social media affecting mental health, on social media, but give it a read! Since social media began, more and more people have been diagnosed with some form of mental health disorder or another, whether this is a correlation or not is upto you to decide. I havn't looked at studies to back this, but moreso want opinions on what you think.

When it comes to social media, and images / videos online, many people forget that what you're seeing isn't reality. Stop comparing your life to what you see online. Stop comparing your body, your looks to other people you see online. Lighting makes a difference, poses make a difference, EDITING makes a difference.
~
So you see an image of someone online, and think to yourself 'I wish I looked more like that'. Stop. Easier said than done, but start practicing self love, not hating yourself for not looking like others. You won't ever look how you want, or be happy with who you are, if you're constantly spending time comparing.
~
You never know how someones life is being lived through looking online, take everything you see with a pinch of salt and concentrate on yourself. Improve your well being, look after yourself and the more you do this, the less and less you will find yourself feeling down.

Clean Eating vs IIFYM

Which plan do you follow? Do you prefer to eat what you want, aslong as it fits within your macros? Or do you prefer to eat clean?

The thing with 'Clean Eating' is that it differs dependant on who you ask. Ideally, 'clean eating' would mean avoiding your typical snack food, foods high in sugar, foods high is 'bad' fats/carbs along with food which is highly processed. 'Clean' is a very subjective term. You could ask 1000 people what “eating clean” means to them and there’s a chance you’ll get 1000 different answers all involving a different set of dietary allowances and restrictions.

IIFYM stands for 'If It Fits Your Macros'. There is no list of specific foods/food groups you must eat or avoid. There are no specific dietary rules, restrictions, and allowances you must adhere to. There’s no strictness and structure that must be followed. Basically, aslong as the foods you eat fit into your macros, then you can eat whatever you like.

In my opinion, changes in body composition happen as a result of your total calorie, protein, carb and fat intake. They don’t happen as a result of the specific food sources that provide those calories and macronutrients, nor do they happen as a result of the specific manner they are consumed in. Personally, I like to have balanced regime of eating healthy, whilst treating myself within reason, I find this to be the best approach when wanting to stick with a plan.
