These hours spent on trails, whether #biking or #running, have become my lifeline. I've come to need that feeling of freedom as much as I need water. . The freedom from the confines of societal expectations. No social grace necessary (to be honest I'm terribly lacking as it is). No need to be a 'lady'. . Im soaked through, covered in gnats? Dirt? I don't know... . I'd planned another 46 mile ride today, but I got rained on pretty hard for a rather large portion of that, so it turned into 30 miles. ‍♀️ . Why 46 miles all the time you may wonder? Why not 50? Well, my favorite part of the #gaptrail to ride is Cumberland to the Eastern Continental Divide and back. 23 miles up. 23 miles down. Swipe to see what I'm talking about.⬅️ . It is the steepest part of the whole trail. It's a bit of a challenge going up for 23 miles, but back down is fast and fun...I thoroughly enjoy the challenging part as well though. . But today mother #nature had other plans, and I didn't check the weather, so I was not prepared. I only made it from Cumberland to Frostburg and back. But it's all good. It was an enjoyable day of #biking regardless. . Im determined to keep my legs in top shape for when my toe heals. Feeling better each day! Still no #running though.‍♀️ . @feeltrip.us day 6 is all done! It was us against Mother Nature, and while I mentioned how I couldn’t wait for a shower, these were not the showers I was looking for! I had a stand off with a Geese who was protecting it’s little geese, I tried telling it I was a vegetarian, but they weren’t having it, so, I waiting it out. Then later on the trail we passed a snake and that was fun figuring out how to navigate around them!
