The "wrinkled" appearance is from the many gastric folds called rugae which allow the stomach to expand when you eat. The average adult stomach can hold about a quart (.9L) of food and fluid. Oesophageogastroduodenoscopy a.k.a gastroscopy is a camera test of the gullet, stomach and first part of the small bowel. It can be used to help diagnose and sometimes treat certain conditions in this part of the gut. Most of these procedures are done as a day case service and patients are only required to attend fasting. You have the option of getting the test done while partially sedated or fully conscious. The procedure typically lasts less than 10minutes and patients can be discharged home once the effect of the sedation weans off.

Quem acompanha nossos Stories viu que atendemos essa semana um exemplar de tucano-toco (Ramphastos toco) com obstrução intestinal, em cólon descendente. Há Jé vamos explicar um pouquinho mais sobre o caso clínico desse nosso paciente lindo.
Esse animal apresentou dificuldade para defecar (disquezia) e por essa razão veio para uma consulta, aonde após o exame físico e a realização do exame radiográfico contrastado foi evidenciado que havia uma obstrução intestinal e um megacólon.
Hoje foi o dia de realizar uma gastroscopia e colonoscopia nesse tucano a fim de diagnosticar a causa e auxiliar no tratamento dessa ave.

На приём обратилась женщина 1974 г р с жалобами на похудение , чувство тяжести в области желудка , тошноту, рвоту , похудение . Жалобы появились пару месяцев назад . На осмотр или как говорят «глотать кишку», пришла впервые . На видеогастроскопии: объемное образование охватывающее 1/3 желудка с изъязвлением по центру . Заключение: C-r желудка , Gist ?, лимфома ?. От взятия биопсии отказались . Пациентка была направлена к онкологу , для дальнейшей тактики лечения . Было рекомендовано пройти КТ ОБП для установления роста опухоли в соседние органы .
