“Summertime is always the best of what might be.” . . I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Summer is my favourite time of year by a mile. Yes it’s hard work to juggle four kids and a million deadlines, and yes it’s exhausting to play referee pretty much 6284 times a day, but for the most part, and for the best parts, it’s worth it ten times over. . . We’ve had a lovely day on the beach here in Bude where, completely unprepared for the sunshine, the kids ran wild in just their underwear, played for hours with an empty plastic bottle and an old wooden fork, and ate sausage rolls for dinner perched on the side of the pavement. . . Not every day has to be a big adventure, and it certainly doesn’t have to be perfect, but these crazy kids of mine are having the Summer of their lives and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of time to claw back my sanity come September....

Ad/presstrip We’ve had a lovely couple of days in Winchester together staying at @holidayinnwinchester as the perfect location to visit @marwellzoo and @winchestersciencecentre I actually thought we’d been to Winchester once briefly before but realised I was getting confused with Dorchester so this was a whole new experience. . . Winchester actually has so much to offer and we barely even scraped the surface. The kids went crazy for Marwell zoo and the Brickosaurus trail, and we learned so much today at the science centre and planetarium. We’ve been so lucky with the weather and will definitely be back to see more of the area in the future. . . We’ve enjoyed every minute of the last ten days together as a six but, as is the case when you’re co-parenting, last night we waved off Lewis back home to his Dad and we’ll continue the rest of our road trip as a five. We’ve got lots of fun things left in store (most of which Lewis would probably roll his eyes at ) but for now I’m going to put on my pjs, stick in a pizza, and get ready for the Love Island final tonight here in Devon. . . #LoveWinchester

T h i s • i s • u s Hey guys! There’s a lot of rad new people following us so we thought you might like to know a bit about us. We’re Amanda (27) and Dustin (28), the folks of This is Bus. Also on board- our 23 month old son, Ezra, our Australian Shepherd, Maeble, and our Border Collie, Carter. We started our skoolie adventure when our son was barely past his newborn phase. Although Dustin had a great job with great people, the hours were crazy and our family was missing out on lots of togetherness that we desperately craved. When we did the math and realized that with this new lifestyle we could work less and actually save more, we jumped in. Fast forward to nearly 2 years later! We’ve been officially on the road since March. Our bus, aka Winnie, in still under construction. There’s cabinet doors still missing, trim missing, floor pieces missing, and the list goes on. But this thing the product of our hard work and she’s beautiful and she’s home. Fun facts about us -We’re high school sweethearts and still feel like kids in love. -We have a wedding videography business called Simple and Speraw (simpleandsperaw.com) -Dustin works from the road doing marketing/branding/web design (lobacreative.com) -We talk in weird voices and accents most of the day and usually don’t even realize it. -We don’t have very many friends, but the ones have, we consider family. Ask us anything! We don’t usually leave long captions but are very open to conversations!
