The fascinating Terracotta Warriors ⚔️ . . This place was so interesting, Emperor Qin Shi Huang had his own tomb built and these life sized warriors built and placed around it to protect him in his afterlife. When he died they were all buried with him. It wasn’t until 2000 years later in 1974 some local farmers were digging for a well when they first discovered them. There are over 8000 warriors and 800 carriages and horses amongst lots of other figures. No two models are the same they are all unique and so detailed. . It’s about a 40 minute car ride from Xi’an city and there you have access to three of the discovery pits. Pit number 1 is the most spectacular. There is also a museum with the bronze carriage and the other Terracotta discoveries and weapons on display. They are still finding more as the excavation and restoration is ongoing. . It’s very easy to do with children there will be lots of guides offering their services outside but we like to do thing at our own leisure as we can never predict how the kids will go. It’s really easy to navigate around on your own and all information is in both Chinese and English. After visiting all of the sites there is a huge shopping complex with shops, markets and restaurants.

MT. HOOD // One of the reasons I love the outdoors so much is because it makes me feel less shameful about this #shamelessselfie. How? You might ask. Well as a mom, and also a plus size woman, I tend to take photos of everyone else. I am not as comfortable in front of the lens as I used to be, but I am the one carrying this curious child through snow on snowshoes and gaining thousands of feet in elevation. I want her to remember that we did this together. That she can enjoy the outdoors at any size, any age, any demographic, and circumstance. And most of all, that we enjoy the outdoors together. I found an amazing group of women who support this kind of feeling, and build each other up in the outdoors no matter your size, age, skin color, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. F O U R | Well that’s it my boy turns the big 4 tomorrow & I feel that’s the end of baby years it’s now on to big school in September! Where oh where does that time go?! If I could rewind time I would just to have those newborn snuggles again but I’m lucky as he is a very cuddly boy!
