I have been rereading the story of Moses and Israelites from Egypt to The Promised Land. It says in Numbers how the Israelites complained and wished they were back in Egypt as slaves. Their slave mindset turned what should have 11 day journey to the promised land into a 40 year journey. Let’s not let our past mindset keep us from our future promise! Let’s trust God, keep the faith and as the word says forget the past and strain towards what is ahead!

This little corner of our room above Enzo’s bassinet is becoming my favorite Also, little side note, the frame on the left holds a print of Isaiah 43:19 which is the verse that we were given many times in the beginning of our pregnancy that we clung to during all the unknowns (which I shared in my blog post about pregnancy after miscarriage). I found this print later when we moved that I had forgotten about and couldn’t believe it. Now, it will hang above our son as he sleeps, our answered prayer, our new season following one of pain. Anyone in the midst of sorrow and pain, don’t give up hope on your rainbow following the storm.

This was my school picture this past year. - It was taken in September & it was the picture used for my staff ID badge, the one that was in the yearbook, and the one used for our school//department website. It also served as a daily reminder for me about why I do what I do. - These two faces. Them & their daddy. They are my drive. My motivation. My happiness. They are the very best part of my life & I thank Jesus for them each & every day. - In September I doubted that I could do it, really & truly. But I just FINISHED my first whole school year as a mama of two. I’m so very thankful that it’s only part-time, and that mostly I’m home, but I’m still dang proud. So proud. Of myself. Of my kids. I don’t want to go anywhere God isn’t.” • “God doesn’t promise us success.” • “Sounds like that woo-woo new age-y stuff.” • Yes and amen to surrendering all that we do in obedience to God’s truth, His voice, and His unique calling for our life. Yes and amen to aligning our heart and desires with kingdom purpose. But too often there is something missing in the conversation of Christians and success. • That missing piece is our part. *MINDFULNESS LIVING UPDATE* . Things are still coming along pretty slowly. . Yoga. Healthy eats. Constant hydration. Quiet Self Care moments. Keeping up with hobbies that gives me joy. Living in the present sans phone. Minimalist lifestyle. . All of the above has been pretty inconsistent so far, but not elusive. Most mornings I try to squeeze in the minimal 15-20 minute Yoga sesh - while the kid is hanging off of me. The rest of my personal mindfulness goals has been pretty much pushed aside til the kid goes to sleep. By the time that happens, I really only have an hour to squeeze in whatever it is I want to do before sleepiness takes over. . Oi. It’s frustrating. As long as the kid is awake, he won’t let me do anything. I can’t do research on the laptop/phone. I can’t even wash the dishes! Sometimes I can’t even use the restroom. But I know times like these are fleeting and temporary. . Sooooo how do you fellow mamas do it with a super active toddler who won’t leave you alone, like, 90% of the time? . . . . . Did you know that even The Gifts of the Holy Spirit can operate outside of love? (For further study on this check out our bio link). The scriptures go on to say that if the Gifts operate outside of Love, it profits us nothing. What does that mean? It means it lays up no eternal reward. There may be a small weight of “human” glory attached to it, but nothing of lasting value is accomplished. Likewise, we may know The Truth on a particular matter, but if it is not spoken in love, it doesn’t profit us. If it is spoken out of frustration or selfish gain there is no eternal value. Sometimes it’s best to hold our peace. But when we speak The Truth in Love, THEN we have invited the ONE who can actually open blind eyes and change hearts. That’s the value of speaking The Truth In Love. The Holy Spirit Who indwells us will help us to speak The right Truth, at the right time with the right motive. He is amazing like that! Real Talk Ladies! If our mantra is “positive vibes only”, “no drama”, “no negativity” or whatever, then it will be challenging for God to accomplish the extraordinary through us. Why? Because first of all the Bible promises us that all who live Godly will suffer persecution. That word persecution means there is going to be some confrontation! Look at the Apostle Paul, He was beaten, stoned, thrown in prison on multiple occasions and left for dead! If we live a Godly life, we are going in the exact opposite direction of this world and YES there is going to be conflict and we will feel that pressure on our flesh! There will be times when 2 Corinthians 4:8 is fulfilled in your life: We are pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. We don’t need to try to escape all the “hard spots” in life, no we need to lean in greater to the Holy Spirit Who indwells us!! We need to toughen up!! To escape “negativity” and “drama” we would literally have to live in a bubble or leave this world altogether! We have got to stop trying to “protect OUR peace”, that’s called self preservation! Jesus didn’t call us to self preservation, He has called us to minister the Good news of reconciliation! The reality is, nobody can take your peace or your joy unless you let them! Jesus, the Prince of Peace Himself lives in you by the Holy Spirit! You have a race to run for Jesus and that may come with a showdown or two, like it did with Elijah!
