➰Hair Growth on The Curly Girl Method➰ . . For this #transformationtuesday, I thought I would share my hair growth progress. I had my last major cut in August 2018 (left pic). I noticed considerable growth after January of this year. When my hair is straight it touches my waist! These pics are taken in the same bathroom, in the same spot. . . What can I credit to this increased growth? Here are a few things I have added to my routine in the last five to six months: . . Vitamins: . . I started taking vitamin D and Biotin and Keratin back in January. @honestlizhere has posted about the importance of Vitamin D before, and I'm a believer in adding it to your vitamin regimen. Vitamin D plays a huge role in our bodies, and low levels have been associated with hair breakage and thinning. Always check with a doctor first to see if you need to supplement. . . Scalp Massages with Oil: . . I began using @righteousrootsoils and @mahoganynaturalsltd monoi healing serum as part of my regular routine. I also add the oil to the lengths of my hair to protect prior my hair prior to using shampoo. @themestizamuse has great info on oils and their ability to penetrate the hair shaft. The research is conflicting at times, but I can say from experience that adding oils to my routine has been beneficial. . . Washing less frequently: . . I used to be an every other day hair washer. Since starting the method and especially since adding Vitamins and massages, I can go three to four days without using a low poo. I'm not sure of it's directly affected growth, but it has been a major change to my normal routine. Also adding conditoner to my hair BEFORE shampooing has helped to decrease hair shed. . . Dry Detangling: . . I have read hair science studies that support dentangling hair while wet but I've also read support for detangling when dry. I have added dry detangling to my routine and I can personally say it has caused me to have less hair shed. I'm not talking about ripping a brush through your hair; rather, use your fingers to gently detangle and then use a brush like the flexy to brush through from midshaft to ends. . . Have you noticed increased growth on this method?

I’m sooooooo sorry guys for such a late post. I hate posting late. Not just because I may not get as much engagement, but because you guys may not be able to see it I filmed this about 4 times.
