Так что же все-таки лучше, купить или создать. В Одессе ответили бы на этот вопрос так: "Помяните мое слово, детей и мишек надо делать собственноручно!" ⠀ Hi! To buy a teddyis, of course, GOOD. BUT!☝️ Creating a teddy bear with your own hands with the help of a magic mikkabears set and such (⬅️Scroll gallery ➡️) video tutorials–is also GOOD! So what is better, buy or create. Day 4 - Tools & materials By no means an exhaustive list, but here are some of my favourite tools and materials to work with: • For the planning: - Paper/sketchbook (I carry a tiny notepad with me at all times along with a 0.1 nib pen because you never know when flashes of inspiration may strike) - Pencil - Tracing paper - Sharpie marker - Light pad (for design & adjusting patterns, and later for marking onto fabric) For the making: - Linen & cotton (linen in particular has become my favourite fabric to work with. It's a beautiful blank canvas to paint on and embroider). I tend to go for a fairly robust one so it can withstand all the tugging about as I construct the dainty limbs. - Fabric paint & brushes - Needle and thread - Wadding - great to add a bit of depth to the embroidery stitches - Vintage fabrics - wonderful for a pop of colour and pattern interest as well as the recycle/repurpose/ carbon footprint benefits - Elna sewing machine. The detail of my Poosac dolls is hand-painted and hand-embroidered however I use my sewing machine to stitch up the side seams. - Prym turning set - one of my absolute favourite tools! I use these for making & stuffing my skinny doll limbs and bodies. Over time, the wooden baton has been replaced with a wooden chopstick (whatever works right?! ) - Pliers for tugging tiny needles through fabric when my fingers get too weary. - LED magnifying lamp. I bought a magnifying lamp last week, so you can expect more teeny tiny detailed work in the near future! For the styling: - Cardboard & sellotape (I love making my own paper props and am particularly inspired by childhood memories of the wonderfully animated Paddington Bear series (3D colourful doll with monochrome 2D/3D backdrop) - Miniature props. I'm OBSESSED with all things miniature so you'll often see random miniatures I've collected through the years popping up in my dioramas - Large sheet of white paper as photography backdrop - iPad, iPhone & Mac - lists, planning, calendar, reminders, photography, Etsy shop management - it all happens on these guys! #marchmeetthemaker
