“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 One of the most insidious ways the ego strengthens itself is in criticizing others. Whether it be their appearance, their beliefs, their politics, or any other criticism we level at others - whether out loud or just in our own minds - what we are truly doing is giving ourselves a reason to feel superior. We are getting a little burst of pleasure from seeing ourselves as superior in some way to the person we are criticizing. It could be intellectual superiority, moral superiority, spiritual superiority, financial superiority, or superior in some other way. It all comes down to the same thing....our ego congratulating itself on being better, greater than, or more than someone else’s ego. This sense of superiority is what allows us to create a greater sense of boundary between “me” and “not me.” The ego grows more dense through the practice of showing where others are wrong, and it is right. Things I keep locked away in my head. When I mention Daath, the Abyss, or the Void, what exactly am I talking about? My personal experience of it is in essence indescribable, and frankly I won’t share my own understanding. But, there are many excellent books that touch upon this subject, and here is yet another one. This book came out a couple of years ago. It’s lengthy, thorough and very comprehensive; but also highly technical, covering specific esoteric topics with a focus on Ceremonial Magick. . “The Abyss lies between the Ethical Triangle of Geburah, Chesed, and Tiphereth and the Supernal Triangle of Binah, Chokmah, and Kether. A vast chasm of understanding separates what mortals can comprehend and what is beyond true comprehension. In biblical mythology, the Abyss represents the divide created by the “Fall,” whether it be the fall of the archangel Lucifer into the depths after the war in heaven, the fall of Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden, or the Gnostic fall of light into the world of matter. In its most enlightened telling, the Fall is not the fall of angels or men, but the fall of God, as the prime creator, into form to experience life, and in that process the separation that God experiences from himself/herself. We are that portion of God in manifestation. We finally received the book of NYC photos I self-published, and they are on their way to those who supported us in this Kickstarter endeavor. Many have already received it, and we’ll continue to ship out more each day. We only had a few copies left over, so I wanted to make them as special as possible. There are three different versions which have been hand painted, signed, and numbered, and a few that are not.
