社署在早前宣布，將會更新現行的安老輪候機制，據了解在新制度之下長者將不能再作「雙重輪候」。換言之，長者將不能再同時輪候安老院舍宿位以及社區照顧服務。 現時，香港有近700所分別由非牟利機構、非政府機構或私營機構營的安老院，惟當中屬政府津貼的安老院數目有限，有需要的長者往往需要輪候數年方能入住。而社區照顧服務，是指社署為長者提供的照顧、護理、復康運動和社交活動，服務對象則是經現時安老服務統一評估機制評定為身體機能達中度或嚴重程度缺損的長者。 社署指出，是次的制度更新是為了避免部分沒有逼切性需要的長者過早入住院舍，希望令有限的資源能更好地分配。勞工及福利局局長羅致光更指「唔係唔准佢排隊，而係分清楚有冇長期照顧需要」，並提到如果長者有需要入住安老院舍、在輪候期間時，仍可申領社區照顧服務。 然而，亦有立法會議員指出，在新制度下，被安排輪候社區照顧服務的長者，若日後身體轉差，而需要入住院舍的話，則需要重新排隊輪候，質疑政府莫視長者的實際需要，只為「整靚盤數」。

Ah Boy(Singlish) to Man . It was the last day of internship for Lincoln and he brought us some homemade food as well as a delicious milkshake from Shek Mun! . What's special about Lincoln is that we literally watched him grow up! We first met him when he was in Form 4 in the International Awareness Week followed by a week long programme called Learning Without Walls when he was in Form 5. He applied to be our intern after his DSE and we have seen his progress from a young and naughty boy to a fine young gentleman that he is today. . He has brought us countless hours of fun in the office but also tons of cool ideas to implement in our future projects. It was especially touching to see him constantly conquering his fears and challenging his limits during this internship. . All the best for your studies Lincoln!
