Not every day is the same. It seems pretty obvious but sometimes it can slip our minds that we can’t be happy every day. There are some days where I’m so happy and so in the moment that I feel like nothing can rob that happiness away. And it’s beautiful. Truly. Because I immerse myself in the moment. I feel aligned, grateful and at peace.
Then I wake up the next day and it’s not the same. Maybe I slept bad and had weird dreams.
Or something during my day triggers me and suddenly I feel sadness or frustration.
Or I fall into old thinking patterns and I feel uninspired, inadequate and doubtful.
It’s like one day you’re on top of the world and the next you’re not. And it’s conflicting. All of it. So contradictory. Impermanent. Always. Between being the light and being the darkness. Between joy and happiness. Sadness and grief. Between knowing and having doubts.
And perhaps all we have to really know or remember is that we are home and we have arrived. We are home and we have arrived. Even when we feel lost or far away, we are home and we have arrived. ❤️

I wanted to leave y’all with a couple reminders before I log out for the day

1️⃣ One day of eating more or drinking a bit isn’t going to drastically set you back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
DO be mindful of portions, stay hydrated, and try to get in some protein + veggies
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
DON’T put too much pressure on yourself or let guilt ruin your memories

Then tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start ✨

2️⃣ Don’t forget to take care of your pets!! Thankfully Rosie & Ollie don’t mind fireworks, but many pets get distressed and even run away ☹️ Lots of snugs + treats can help ❤️

You see, when you tell someone “but you don’t look sick” you may think you’re giving us a compliment. Maybe you think because I have my hair done, that means it makes the pain or fatigue or fear a little duller. Or maybe you think looking healthy makes up for the fact that I have a disease. Or maybe you think giving me that ‘compliment’ will help you avoid talking about the fact that I have a diagnosis which seems to make most people uncomfortable.
But most of the time I hear the edge in your tone. The questioning in your voice. I see the scrutiny in your eyes. “But you don’t look sick” typically feels like a challenge. A statement with an unsaid “prove it” hanging off the end. A statement that feels more like a question - “if you look the way you do how can you be sick?” A statement that comes with the underlying tone of, “I don’t believe you.”
And to these people all I have to say is - seeing isn’t always believing, especially with chronic illness
This topic has been swirling around Instagram a lot lately (and for good reasons) so I let my thoughts out on the blog and shared an “open letter to anyone who has ever told me I don’t look sick” hopefully it helps some of you feel understood and can shed light for those who have ever been confused about invisible diseases Xx
A reminder to your highest self,
Manifesting that dream on your mind is within reach. Your wisdom within knows it already, but here’s a little reminder to the soul of steps you can take to manifest;
Step 1- Visualize In present tense. Visualize as if you were already living your dream, see yourself in present tense living the life you see for yourself. What do you do? How does it feel? *When we visualize in present tense we are inviting this new reality in ASAP.* Send the visual into the universe.
Step 2- Take the Actions aligned with your desires. Actions are important because they are choices you make in the physical world that will facilitate your dreams to happen. Launch that website, join that tribe, make that call. Remind yourself, YOU have the power. No one else can do these things for you, only you.
Step 3 - Allow it to flow in. Be in receptive mode. This means, practice feeling worthy of your desires, be open minded to see any signs from the universe pointing you in specific directions, trust the magic is happening before you can feel the transformation. Try to trust the process so you don’t create resistance.
Practice these steps and you’ll prove yourself time and time again you’ve always been the creator of this reality.
I love how i’ve met so many individuals who have their own little hacks to manifest things like writing letters to the universe, using post-its on their mirrors, creating dream boards….

I always thought I was an extrovert... whilst I LOVE social events, catching up with gfs and being a social butterfly I also thrive after some solo time ♀️

This is not my favourite kind of studio, but its a very important one I also regularly visit.

As part of a healthy work-life balance, I come here regularly to monitor my low iron levels to make sure everything stays in the right zones and that I remain out of zombie territory (I wasn’t kidding about those eyebags!)
.
I’m slowly learning to make the most of days and decisions, and to choose my time wisely. I switched off Whatsapp chat groups this year. I limited my nights out. I eat small amounts of red meat daily together with Vitamin C to increase absorption. I Body Pump at gym with the girls... Les Mills I love you!! And I’ve also learned to say No.

Whenever I hear people say, “You have SO much energy, how do you do it?” I can’t help but smile. They don’t know my veins are still stinging from the latest needle, and that I can already feel the bruising coming up.
.
What are some things you prioritise to make sure you keep that elusive work-life balance? Do you have any non-negotiables? I’d love to hear about the choices you make.

For anyone suffering from chronic anaemia, pain or long-term health issues but still put a big smile on it daily; I feel you. I don’t talk about it much, so maybe you don’t either. XXX.

And a reminder to us all that we never know what people are going through “behind the scenes”; so always be kind... and never judge a book by its cover.
