If the only way you can feel good about yourself, is by putting someone else down, you may need to do some self reflecting! When we want to make others look bad, it typically has more to do with us, than it does them! Sometimes you have to dig deep and ask yourself “why do I want to make someone else look bad?” Does it stem from unresolved hurt? Bitterness? Unforgiveness? Jealousy? We must get to the true ROOT of the issue! And even if we feel justified in our views of someone else, what good comes from trying to make them look bad ? Absolutely NOTHING! As believers we are called to LOVE one another! There’s no disclaimer that says we’re only obligated to love the loveable! Love wants the best for others, and that means guarding their reputations, as we do our own! And in reality, we are called to bring God glory! Not make ourselves look good! Because only God is good! So if we are constantly focused on bringing God glory then there’s no time for making others look bad! There’s not enough positive images of blended families together. It’s not because they don’t exist, but the drama-filled ones always seem to be the focus! And in no way do we try to “glamorize” blended families because to be very honest, it’s HARD work. It takes two VERY mature people to make it work. BUT it can be done! 1 out of every 3 Americans are in some type of blended family & every DAY in the U.S. 2,100 blended families will form. So it’s something that has to be talked about. We must provide these families with resources to succeed. We all deserve second chances. • • We are a great example of God’s restoration. When a family comes together that has been impacted by brokenness, it shows God works in spite of a fallen world. We aren’t experts or perfect by any means but are proud to be able to show that it can be done & that all parties can be mature & put the kids first.
