. پالمیرا، سوریه Palmyra, Syria ====================== Photo by: @mijlof ====================== Tag your pictures with #ancient_iran_and_world پالمیرا نام شهری باستانی در استان حُمص سوریه و در 210 کیلومتری دمشق است. ساکنان پالمیرا را آرامی‌ها، عموریان، عرب‌ها و اقلیتی از یهودیان تشکیل می‌دادند. در هم‌جواری ویرانه‌های باستانی پالمیرا، شهر تدمر واقع شده که نام عربی معادل برای پالمیرا نیز هست. این شهر باستانی که به «مروارید صحرا» معروف است یکی از مهم‌ترین ویرانه‌های تاریخی جهان و یکی از آثار ثبت شدهٔ سوریه است که در فهرست میراث جهانی یونسکو قرار دارد. قدمت بخش اعظم ویرانه‌های پالمیرا به سده‌های یکم و دوم میلادی بازمی‌گردد. برای قرن ها شهر پالمیرا که به شهر درختان نخل نیز شهرت داشت به عنوان مکانی مهم و ثروتمند و همچنین یکی از مهمترین شهرهای تاریخی در جهان به شمار می رفت که در امتداد مسیر کاروان هایی که از ایران به سمت بنادر رومی در سوریه می رفتند قرار داشت. در سال 212 میلادی زمانی که ساسانیان دهانه رودهای دجله و فرات را فتح کردند از میزان تجارت پالمیرا کاسته شد. گروه تروریستی داعش کنترل شهر باستانی پالمیرا را در اردیبهشت 1394در دست گرفت. علاوه بر اینکه دهها یا شاید صدها تن از ساکنان این شهر قربانی جنایات گروه تروریستی داعش شدند، بسیاری از ابنیه تاریخی این شهر نیز تخریب شد. تروریست‌های داعش در خلال اشغال پالمیرا از آمفی تئاتر این شهر باستانی برای اعدام‌های عمومی استفاده کرده و خالد الاسعد، باستان شناس و رئیس سابق آثار باستانی این شهر را کشتند. تروریست‌های داعش همچنین معبد 2000 ساله «بعل شامین» و «معبد بل» را تخریب کرده و «طاق نصرت» این شهر را که قدمت آن به سال 200 بعد از میلاد می‌رسید، منفجر کردند. منبع: parsine.com
