Who has fitness and/or hunting goals already in mind for 2019?
_
I’m pushing to gain another 18 pounds by June! Throwing all the excuses aside and pushing to get there and also trying to put two bulls down in September and get two other people to fill their tags with me! Gonna be a fun one.

And for those of you thinking of western hunts or fitness goals, what motivation are you using to stay on track? If we ran a challenge would that help you hold yourself accountable? Send me ideas, we are all ears.

Deer Tips and Rice - the ultimate comfort food! (SWIPE for a close-up)
.
This recipe probably looks the most unappealing, yet is the most delicious!! Enjoy the slow-cooked venison cubes that fall apart in your mouth with a delicious thick gravy and hints of bay leaf, garlic, and red wine.
.
If you've ever hesitated to make recipes online, this is one you won't want to miss out on! It's a classic family recipe and my personal favorite.
.
1 1/2-2 lbs cubed venison roast
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup flour
2 tbsp oil
2 cloves garlic
1 onion
1 cup sliced mushrooms
3 bay leaves
1/3 cup red wine
1 1/2 cup beef broth
.
1. Season venison cubes with your desired amount of salt and pepper. Dredge beef in flour.
2. In skillet on medium high, add garlic and sear venison on all sides.
3. Place venison, garlic, onion, mushrooms, and bay leaf in slow cooker. Pour wine and broth on top.
4. Cook for 4 hours on high. Serve over white rice and enjoy!
