About 2 hours ago I just finished my dinner and was rolling on the bed until Mr.Ma randomly said, ”Oh. It’s @inchawinnipeg soft opening today.” I immediately decided to go. It’s located right beside/inside Summer Palace on Pembina. Many tables, plenty of staff, and new drinks for Winnipeggers to try! What caught my attention was their top 1 drink, soy milk and peanut brown sugar milk tea. I was gonna order that but my friend ordered that so I opted for another. I was trying to order the original brown sugar milk tea but the cashier insisted I order the macchiato brown sugar milk tea instead. Ok , it’s only past 6pm. I guess sleeping in a timely matter don’t matter so WHY NOT? My total was $7.01. Kinda pricy for a smaller size drink... but I guess brown sugar drinks are so trendy and they’re priced that high anyways. What really bewildered me was how the brown sugar drinks are only available in small sizes. Why? Not sure. The wait time for drinks was lengthy but I expect that for new openings. It was REALLY hard to maneuver around the place with the amount of chairs placed around tables and the amount of people. In contrast, their couch area was too far apart and very difficult to have a conversation with your party. Let’s talk about the actual drinks now: 1) Macchiato brown sugar milk tea. I enjoyed this. The pearls were chewy and soft and I’m so happy about this drink. I couldn’t really taste THAT much of a difference compared to other brown sugar drinks I’ve had at other shops but this one was a little foamy. 2) Soymilk + peanut brown sugar milk tea: My god. I personally thought this was disgusting. I thought it was gonna be very finely blended peanuts or some extract but they literally used fresh ground peanuts and you can definitely feel that texture when you sip it. I didn’t like it at all but my friend liked it so... I guess it’s a preference thing. 3) Light oolong w/ lemon: very refreshing and not too sweet. I personally liked this very much as well! Overall, I think this place is a much better bbt shop than some of the other places that have opened up recently.
