Yesterday evening produced some of the best storm structure I've witnessed in person. An updraft and its dark rain core walked east towards the Atlantic. Downwind, mammatus sailed beneath the storm's anvil as it spilled overhead. To top things off, the soft light of sunset provided great contrast and color for the entire scene.
Falcon 9 streaks into the night sky topped with a Dragon Capsule containing supplies and science for the crew aboard the International Space Station. Several minutes after launch, the first stage booster touched down just offshore of Cape Canaveral on SpaceX's floating landing pad 'OCISLY.' Here's a composite image showing the launch and first stage landing. (Photo: @marcuscote_photo / @spacecoasttimes)

Falcon Heavy stands in the blistering summer sun this afternoon during the media's visit to LC-39A on Kennedy Space Center. The three-core, twenty-seven engine rocket sits ready to launch twenty-four satellites into several orbits for a variety of organizations and purposes. Due of the complex nature of this payload, SpaceX has highlighted this mission as one of their most difficult launches to date. The four-hour window for launch opens tonight at 11:30pm EDT and extends until 3:30am EDT. SpaceX plans to land Falcon Heavy's side cores back on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and the center core on their offshore droneship. Stay tuned for more coverage!
