I’m sure I must have the worlds slowest ears.

I recon at least 50% of the day I completely mishear or completely misunderstand what people say.

I seem to spend a large portion of my day nodding and smiling at people having absolutely no idea what they have just said to me.
.
Often hoping what they just said isn’t crucial to my immediate survival in that very moment or worse, that they actually asked me a question .
.
Otherwise it results in me just staring at them blankly until I inevitably end up asking for them to repeat themselves.
.
Sometimes my brain catches up and the words slot into place but often I’m always a few steps behind .
.
And it’s nothing to do with my hearing either, I think my brain is soooo busy processing other completely unimportant creative things that it leaves not much processing power left to actually listen to language .

So I’m off to stare blankly at more people.
