Let’s talk about FLOVVER . . . . Behind FLOVVER there is me, founder Barbara Mattei. At the very beginning of my floristry path, incorporating locally foraged flowers was a kind of need. Flowers are super expensive, therefore I have been started using materials that were just available to me. Having few opportunities really can give you the possibility to create something new: so I have been creating new shapes based just on foraged materials. I think it is really powerfull to use what you have. And still now I am continuing to use foraged materials. And I love it . . . . Let’s talk about Brutalism architecture. Brutalism is an architectural style which emerged in the mid-20th century and gained popularity in the late 1950s and 1960s. It descended from the modernist architectural movement of the late 19th century and of the first half of 20th century. It is characterized by simple, block-like structures that often feature bare building materials. Exposed concrete is favored in construction: CONCRETE is used for its raw and unpretentious honesty, contrasting dramatically with the highly refined and ornamented buildings constructed in the elite Beaux-Arts style. The most famous supporter of brutalism was the Swiss-born architect Le Corbusier. As well as Brutalism, FLOVVER does propose raw materials such as wild flowers and so called weeds. This is in contrast to the highly formal ornamented floral old school. As well as Brutalism, FLOVVER’s is a very optimistic style . .
