Baby @ash1eigh_ng is 13 months old today! She has been a toddler for a month but she will forever be my baby. She is starting to form her own character and for the sake of simplicity, we would say she has become very naughty. Ash experienced many first-times this month. She has started walking stably over the last weekend. My parents saw her last Friday walking in short bouts and crawling in between. The next time they saw her on Monday, she was already walking around the house confidently. She’s hardly crawling now. She experienced walking in outdoor shoes and walked for long periods. She also stepped into an indoor playground and discovered what a haven it was. She continues to hone her climbing skills by climbing the slide the slide way instead of the steps way. Her favorite pastime is to climb onto the sofa backrest and sit like Humpty Dumpty. She used to hate wearing socks and shoes but now associates them with going out and walking. We see her every day and still, we are astounded by the speed and how long she could walk on her own unassisted. With her newfound walking skills, she has learned how to get down the bed on her own. Instead of crying for us when she wakes up, she would independently get down the bed and walk to wherever we are with her sleepy yet cheeky face. She manoeuvres her walker toy adeptly and knows how to dislodge it from stucked household objects by testing out the various change in angles or lifting it. She enjoys pushing her old rocker and heavy wooden high chair about too. She could finally put a circle shape toy correctly into the right hole. She then claps and looks around to make sure we all saw that and to clap with her. She continues to be adventurous in trying new foods but still eats only a few spoonfuls of solids. She has started partial baby led weaning with a spoon to much horror and mess. She quickly discovers how to peel off the suction bowl off her tray. She still prefers using her fingers to pinch food or putting her whole face down into the bowl to eat like a dog. Here’s a slideshow documenting her 1mo till 12mo with her @jellycat_official bunnies.
