When presenting your product or service to a potential client it’s important to remember what it does for people, not what it is. Write down ✍ & memorize 1️⃣0️⃣ things your product or service has that benefits people. The next step is write down ✍ & memorize 3️⃣ things that each of those benefits helps people accomplish. My career became much more rewarding when I learned how to crystallize my prospects goals & concerns. But when I was new in sales.... I was so passionate about how the product & service I was selling could truly help people, that I would push them on everybody that I KNEW would benefit from them. Let’s be honest we’ve either all been here or are currently going through this... and although this sales tactic has all the right intentions, it results in very limited results & frustrated prospects. When I started in sales I WASN’T listening to what my prospects wanted.... and this phrase was the game changer for me... “No one wants to be sold, but everyone want to be helped” this was a turning point for me, as it can be for you too. Meeting new prospects is the most time consuming part of the sales cycle however only 2% of sales are made on the 1st contact. The to success is to add value & create top of mind awareness with constant communication with these relationships moving forward. ➡️ What I have found most effective is to be a source of information not a source for solicitation. You need to have 10-15 touches throughout the year using 6 different forms ofcommunication; text, DM, email, voicemail, mail, and face to face. 4-5 of your messages should be some type of acknowledgment such as happy birthday to increase likability. The others should be information based that would be of value to your prospects with no call to action, this will increase credibility. For myprospects I would also have 1-2 face to face meetings over lunch or a drink where I do not talk business, this will increase trust.
