I went to a dog friendly restaurant @ohso_paradisevalley and had a great time! Instead of begging for food, I begged for pets! I was also a very good boy and did not bark at the other dogs on the patio. I got a @cannapet treat when I got home for being a good boy ! Also, now that I’m more mobile, I’m out and about more, so I got this sweet vest so people know I was rescued by @arizonabeaglerescue and that I’m on my way to going from obese to beast ! I walked for a solid 20 minutes and look how fast I’m going! I also walked with my new unicorn toy (thanks @beaglebros ) . I’m working on my goals and I’m making a list of long-term, mid-range, and short term goals. My two long term goals are: 1. I want to weigh about 25 pounds 2. I want to catch that cat (but I just want to play with the cat ) Working hard on the water treadmill is a big step toward meeting those goals! I’m down another pound! I now weigh 81.4 pounds, down from a starting weight of about 90 pounds two months ago. I’m a little frustrated that I’m not losing the weight faster, but foster mom said “Rome wasn’t built in a day” (whatever that means). Also, foster mom said she is really proud of me, and I should cheer up because I can go swimming once she and foster dad get home from work tonight. I love pool time, and as I always say, “every body is a swimsuit body.” . Also, a lot of people don’t understand what I’m going through on this weight loss journey and feel it is appropriate to leave random messages blaming foster mom. Don’t worry guys, I’m breathing through my nose! I’m working on my goals “step by step” . I walked for a full 20 minutes on the water treadmill. Dr. Julie Mayer said I did a great job (and I was monitored the entire time by Dr. Julie and her staff). I’m so happy she lets me use the water treadmill at @integrative_veterinarian . Thanks again Dr. Julie ! Also, I reminded foster dad my @fitbark is waterproof, so I bet it is going crazy! It really takes a village to get this unicorn healthy, and I’m happy for everyone that is encouraging and helping me along the way. ‍⚕️ Medical Update ‍⚕️ . . I had a check-up yesterday with @canyonanimalhospitalaz, and the tests confirmed I’m a unicorn . I loved the attention from the really nice staff. Canyon is one of @arizonabeaglerescue partner clinics, which means the rescue can make its resources go further to help more unicorns like myself! . . I also got a very good report and weighed in at 80.5 pounds! Two months ago I weighed 89.7 pounds on that same scale!! The vet said my weight loss is right on track ! . . My thyroid is now within the normal range, but still on the low side, so we are changing the dosage just a little; I hope that helps me lose even more weight!
