When we saw pictures of this sunken forest it was immediately clear we need some sort of floating device. Unfortunately there are no boat rentals around and SUPs are not common in Kazakhstan. So we borrowed this from @burusports and brought it with us all the way from Latvia.

After a 2 hour drive on a dirt road across steppe we reached this unreal place. It looks and feels like ashes. Sun, rain and wind keeps eating up those surfaces continuously changing the shape. From blueish gray on one side to bright red and yellow on the other - this is part of Aktau mountain range in Altyn-Emel nature park, Kazakhstan.
Pēc divu stundu brauciena pa zemes ceļu pāri stepei mēs nokļuvām šajā vietā, kas man atgādināja pelnu kalnu. Saule, lietus un vējš turpina grauzt tā virsmu nepārtraukti mainot šo kalnu formas. No zilpelēkām vienā pusē līdz spilgti dzeltenām un sarkanām otrajā. Šis ir Aktau kalnu masīvs Altyn-Emel dabas parkā, Kazahstānā.
