Having more isn’t always better, even when it comes to books! As part of my journey towards minimalism, I recently decided to curate all the children’s books in our shelves. Yes, this means we did a whole lot of purging (eep!) . The verse on Philippians 4:8 kept playing in my head as I was choosing: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” I want to fill my kids’ minds with beauty and all things wonderful and I really believe that it starts with the small things like in the books they read, the music they hear and even in the places they visit. When we expose them to beauty, they learn to appreciate and long for it. . Looking for a publisher for “When the Sun Shines”

Sharing some of my gorgeous book finds at the @bbwbooksph Book Sale . Mainly got books for the kids so lots of beautiful hard bound books as you can see for less than Php300. Nabbed a beautifully illustrated book narrating the history of dinosaurs (because ummm... they all pass this dinomania age ) and lots of books about sea creatures for Tubby as that is his current obsession. . Also loved finding this book about a T-Rex on a birthday party as lately Tubby has been having a hard time expressing his frustration, that he tends to stomp around, shout and run away crying. So I thought he might relate well to this book about a dinosaur exhibiting similar behaviour . The other books I hoarded are for Pottly, which are mainly craft and drawing books. Some are shown here, with easy origami and sketching and shading exercises. . Also stocked up on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries series for Pottly as she enjoys reading these series . Did not really get a specific book for Bayla as we have too many books at home for her age category so I just got her a general animal book with beautiful flip open illustrations. . So these books, I have them still. I did not give it to them yet The thing is with my curly tops, if I hand over lots of books (or anything really), they don’t end up valuing them. So I plan to bring each book slowly throughout the coming months. That way we can enjoy each book and savour it without getting antsy to get on to the next one . So if you have not been, the #bigbadwolfbooks sale is on until MARCH 4, 24hrs a day, at the World Trade Center. It is usually jampacked with people so maybe best not to bring your little ones. The KIDS section is all the way back in so when you get in, just head straight until the other end. There are lanes and lanes of children’s books. Best finds are the complete series of Roald Dahl, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, and saw some Series of Unfortunate Events too. No Harry Potter original books anymore though but lots of the new JK Rowling books like Fantastic Beasts. . Lots of beautiful books for kids, especially on science and animals. All beautifully illustrated too. Hardbound . If you are the type who buys for birthdays and Christmas presents too, lots of activity books and puzzle books. For my kids, stocked up on future gifts for them so grabbed some art kits and drawing books. . Lots of Star Wars books at low low low prices, all hardbound . They also have an amazing collection of coffee table books, whether you are into architecture or fashion, big beautiful hardbound books in mint condition . So hard not to hoard but limited myself to 3-5 books only per kid and 1-2 books for us adults as really if I buy more, it will remain unwrapped and unread .
