My future self is already thanking me. I was HORRIBLE at prepping our morning meeting slides last year. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve put together 36 weeks of ready to go Morning Meeting slides. Each day includes a greeting, time to share, a game, and a class goal. I won’t have to change a thing!

I did put them on TPT. I made them on Google Slides, so they are 100% editable. You can change fonts, colors, the wording, etc. I’m not a big TPTer, but I always hear people say “50% off for the first 24 hours” so I’m doing the same thing if you’re interested, the link is in my bio, grab them while they are half off!
26 letters went out in the mail earlier this week thanking my students for a great year and reminding them to read and practice their math facts over the summer (wishful thinking). I still can’t believe we’ve been out of school for almost a month! Again, sorry to those of you who are STILL in school. You’ve got this! #SlowDownSummer
Guess who just bought the best invention ever?!? ...And what... It’s on @amazon you say I’ve been dreaming of this simple stamp for years! Imagine using this to document! You know ya girl is obsessed with documenting I also love that this can be used with papers you send home so some parents don’t get confused that their child may have gotten a 100% on something we did together as a class, but may struggle with it when done independently. Makes parent teacher conferences so much easier. Huge thanks to @the.crafty.teacher for sharing this on her Insta so we all can succeed! THIS I why I love the teacher insta community so we all don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Share the love friends!

I completed my 4th year of teaching. My students have loved me and stressed me. They have hugged me and rolled eyes at me. They have followed directions and broken some rules. To put it simply, they have been perfectly imperfect for me.❤

I spent this year with the most intelligent, beautiful, friendly, loving and charismatic group of children. We became a family in my classroom. Although there were ups and downs, when I think of the 2018-2019 school year I'll think of all the times they said "I LOVE YOU Mr.Lamin " and their cute little smiles. ❤

I find that saying goodbye never gets easier. After having a really hard year, I thought I would run out the doors in excitement. When it was the time, I didn't. My babies held on to me and cried. Despite how hard it was, it's at those moments when you truly realise that relationships are everything. I'm walking out the door feeling proud. I'm proud that I survived the year and kept smiling despite it all.❤

Although I can actually feel the pain in my heart, I know it is time to move on and focus on the other part of my life. I'm so grateful for the experience and for all of the relationships that were made along the way. ❤
HAPPY HOLIDAYS ♂️

It’s crazy the difference a little paint and some furniture can make in a classroom. The second photo is the day I got the keys to my new school and to my new classroom about three years ago. The first picture was from my last year spent in that room, a 30 year old “temporary” classroom that will be taken down some time this summer. Sure, it looks like a great room! But what the picture doesn’t show is how hot it was, how the walls shook every time the door closed, or how loud it would get when the kids were talking in a normal voice. There were a lot of things wrong with that room, but it still was our home.
Now, I know furniture isn’t what makes somebody a good teacher. However, it can make a classroom feel more welcoming, more inviting, and more like a home. If you compare the two pictures, there’s no doubt the furniture from @NationalBusinessFurniture made that room a more bright and inviting place. A place where students felt comfortable and could work comfortably. One of their favorite seating options were the green vinyl barstools. They adjust in height, and swiveled so kids could fidget some without being a distraction. I can’t wait to move this furniture into my new room in the fall for my new class to enjoy! If you want to make your classroom feel more like a home, you can save 10% on @NationalBusinessFurniture’s website using the code “SWAG10” and I’ve linked the barstools I have in my bio #MyNBFStyle #ad
This visual really needs no description! Social skills are SO important. They are part of every lesson, activity, and every day. They matter. Let's make time for them. Kids deserve it.
.You all know I love visuals so I worked on a set of visual posters highlighting over 80 social skills! Let me know what you think! - - - http://bit.ly/SocialSkillsVisuals - - -
@hansonhallway just shared this tweet from @jesskeatingbooks and many others about graphic novels on her story (they’re still there, so go check them out). Anyways, I’m curious what your thoughts are on graphic novels? My students love them. They make sign up lists every time a new Dog Man comes out. The Amulet series was almost never on the shelf. Graphic novels make students excited to read, therefore, I love graphic novels. Let kids read what they want!
Just finished YEAR 8 as a teacher (whatttt?!) and man have I learned a TON in those eight years. Thought it’d be FUN to share 8 BIG things I’ve learned over my time in teaching. Ready for em?! >>GO!>> (1)Leave the teacher bag at school AND don’t spend all of your holiday breaks in the classroom. (2)There’s no reason to reinvent the wheel if the wheel is running smoothly. (3)Don’t spend your entire paycheck on classroom supplies! You don’t need half of the stuff anyways! (4)Find you a dynamite team. (5)Relationships are THE MOST important. (6)Don’t be afraid to THINK and DO differently. (7)Never stop learning. (8)You only get ONE year with each group of kiddos - make it UNFORGETTABLE. YOUR TURN!!! What have YOU learned in your year(s) of teaching that you wish you would have known as a newbie?! Let us know!! #lessonslearnedinteaching #weareteachers
