Sorry about creating all this confusion guys. This vid shows the washing right after a rug is weaved and is a part of the finishing process. No No PLEASE do not wash a wool rug at home.This is a labour intensive work requiring skill and stamina and a huge amount of muscle power. It begins with vigorous rinsing with cold water to flush out all of the all cleaning shampoo from the rug. The rug is then flush rinsed a second time. The third and final rinse we add lanolin to the rinse process for wool rugs to help restore the natural oil content the rug had before the washing process began. Proper drying is essential to avoid browning, dye migration, and shrinkage. Kelims sind gewebte Poesie. Sie erzählen Geschichten von der weiblichen Schöpfungsenergie, von der Liebe, der Leidenschaft, der Sehnsucht. Von der Pflanzen- und Tierwelt ebenso wie von den feinstofflicheren Ebenen. Kelimweberei ist heilsam für Körper, Geist und Seele. Sie bringt uns in einen meditativen Zustand, verbindet uns mit Mutter Erde und ermöglicht einen Zugang zu unserem Unterbewusstsein. Sie ist Ausdruck unserer kreativen Schöpferkraft und von purer Weiblichkeit. Das Frauen-Kooperative-Projekt von Wild Heart Free Soul startet dieses Jahr im April mit den ersten Schritten.
