Sometimes I love losing, because I get so f**king excited to show you how great I am. . . . How do y’all deal with negative or sad things that happen in your life? . . . My first instinct is to say f**k it ... F it to my green card, to America and jump onto the next flight to Toronto. To be honest, this isn’t an easy process. I miss my friends, I miss the city. But I also know how important this is for me. . . . I usually feel sad for 5 mins, I get it all out. And then I say...okay what am I going to take from this? Emotions are great muses for creativity. It’s time to hustle! . . . On that note, I am so excited to announce that I am participating in kinobody fitness challenge for the next 12 weeks!! . . . Why do we hold our breath when we are sad? I write this as I’m on the stair master 20mins in and I just felt like I was going to have an asthma attack (I’ve experienced sports induced asthma) and I realized that I was thinking about what upset me and what I was forgetting how to breathe. Just breathe, harness your energy and turn it into good.

Getting my fast going.. yesterday I mentioned how fasting helped clear my skin up quickly when I was 19.. crazy enough, I must have gotten 50+ dm’s of people telling me how much it helped their skin. I suffered from pretty bad acne for about 5 years. It sucked and definitely affected my confidence. I must have tried a million things with no success. Crazy enough, when I began fasting my skin started to improve in just a couple of days. 2 weeks in and it was almost all gone. When I started eating breakfast again, I broke out. Fasting naturally lowers IGF-1 and insulin, both of which can contribute to acne and breakouts. As well, fasting allows your body the ability to repair itself through a cellular process known as autophagy. I have found slightly longer fasts to work best for clearing skin. And it’s best to drink lots of water during the fast. Aim to do a 20-24 hour fast once per week. If you finish eating at 9pm then you would fast until 5-9pm the next day. As well, for your daily fasts, try to eat within a 6 hour window. This might be 2pm to 8pm. 16:8 Intermittent Fasting Protocol ⠀ I’ve made a few posts in the past but they weren’t that good. So I decided to use a friend’s design which illustrates a very easy way you can get started with fasting. Credit goes to @roballenfitness for inspiring this design. ⠀ This example of the most popular and the easiest form of fasting to implement. It’s called the 16:8 method. ⠀ You basically fast for 16 hours and eat all of your calories in an 8 hour period. ⠀ Intermittent is super popular right now and for good reason. ⠀ Yes, there is science showing the benefits of fasting. However, the ‘magic’ truly happens because many of us will eat LESS as result of a restricted eating window. ⠀ Intermittent fasting doesn’t work for everyone. If you want to change you have to CHALLENGE yourself. It’s not an option, it’s a REQUIREMENT. This does just pertain to lifting though, it’s the same for EVERY aspect in your life. You must challenge yourself day in and day out. Refuse to remain comfortable, SEEK out your next challenge, learn what your body and mind are capable of. This is how you change, this is how you become BETTER. • Of course it’s difficult, if it wasn’t EVERYONE would be walking around with their dream bodies, their dream car, their dream partner, and their dream house. We would all just float through life without meaning. These challenges provide us with self worth and meaning. When you complete something that felt impossible, you feel good, you feel accomplished. So don’t wait for life to hand you things. Go get what you want, get up and win, take it. With just a little sacrifice, you reap a plethora of rewards. • We ALL have what it take to win this game called life, but we all have to want it. If there’s something you want, begin in an UNRELENTING chase towards it. Do WHATEVER it takes. Win.
