We all know that we should stick to a workout routine to see results, but our emotions always try to deceive us with excuses , junk food and procrastination and that skipping one more day won’t hurt anything.
Something that helps me a lot lately is write down a list of all the things I have to do every day and try to complete at least 20% of it . If I can do 50% even better ... but when i get to 100% ... that is when I am super proud .
Discipline is everything .

Protein considerations:
(For the general population)
Usually the first thing I will change in someone’s diet when they want to lose body fat / change body composition.
When someone goes from a low protein diet to a higher protein diet without changing anything else it’s usually the case that they will naturally start to consume less calories as high protein meals are usually very satiating (great for a fat loss diet) and so it is much harder to over eat on these food sources.

Also now as this person will usually be training 3-4 x per week and activity levels being higher, recovery demands are greatly increased and of course proteins main role is growth and repair of tissue. So without a sufficient amount of protein, recovery will be impaired.
Another benefit of a higher protein diet is that as a macronutrient it is the most thermogenic of the three meaning it takes more energy to digest than it does carbs / fats, therefore giving a slight increase in total energy expenditure.

So if you’re wanting to lose fat but are struggling with where to start with your diet... Start small, start by including a protein source into each meal of the day and build from there.
