Birth happens ❤️ If you birth unexpectedly on the way to hospital or before your homebirth midwife arrives keep baby skin to skin and take off anything wet that’s close to baby - no need to touch the cord or try to tie it off with string etc....allow your baby to get all of his blood no matter where your baby is born.
When you allow birth to unfold naturally, your body moves and stretches in the most perfect way. Time slows down. You’re able to be present for the best moments.
(Also did anybody notice that baby was born to Moana singing? Love it!)

Resharing again - it’s jus too beautiful not to share every week!!! Look at how baby seeks out mom’s face, the neck control...babies are born with more skills than we give them credit for. Keep your baby close after birth - bathe them in your oxytocin (even our larynx - the voice box) has oxytocin receptors). Every part of our being has evolved in 9 months to protect our precious babies.

Let mom get more rest with this position after a cesarean (or great if you have a blocked duct too). This is not safe if you are not following the Safe Sleep 7 guidelines. This position is fine for daytime with your partner watching but not for bedsharing.
Safe bedsharing can be an absolute game changer for breastfeeding moms. You feed all night and feel more rested as you’ve been dream feeding all night instead of getting up, getting pillows and getting more exhausted.
I recommend reading Sweet Sleep - La Leche League and Dr James McKenna’s research (some great articles on his website if you search for infant sleep expert).
Practice safe bedsharing during the day so it’s easy at night foe the first few times.
Sleeping with your baby on the couch or chair is not safe. ❌⚠️❌

Breastfeeding moms share your experiences of going from up all night to resting all night with new moms struggling or about to give birth. Was it a game changer for you?
