A nice quality show that lasts nearly 40 minutes - very reasonably so that kids don't get tired. Вода освежающая и достаточно теплая, мелко вплоть до буйков (тем не менее, на пляже дежурят спасатели). Плата за вход чисто символическая - 500 тенге для взрослых, 200 для детей в возрасте от 6 до 16 лет. I think this is all you need to know about Astana's only city beach near the Central Park. Also, it is tiny as are umbrellas - they don't look like they are meant to be used on beaches. Still, my son and I have had a great time there. The water is refreshing and warm, mostly because the bottom is made very shallow (nevertheless, there are lifeguards on duty). Admission fee is purely symbolic - 500KZT for adults, 200KZT for children aged 6-16. #LEISUREINASTANA Boat trips often top the to-do lists in cities with rivers. The Yessil tour (operated from 12 till 9 pm) is a nice 1-hour-ish ride, but there are issues. There is only one boading point, located next to the Kenesary monument and the pedestrian street ("Arbat"). The left-hand staircase leads you down to the cash-desk, while the right-hand one is for the off-boarding passengers. The queue is messy, the waiting area after you get your ticket (1,000 KZT per adult, kids aged 7-16 pay 500 KZT. Cash only. Children under 6 go free of charge) is small. The good thing though is that boats arrive and depart frequently enough, literally one after another on weekends. Take a coat even on a sunny day, as wind can be chilling. The level of boats' comfort may vary significantly - some feature a bar, individual seats and an indoor deck, some may have only four wooden benches. The route makes a U-turn at the presidential residence Ak Orda, offering a fair amount of opportunities for good photo shots. Overall, it's a great chance to give your legs some rest as you wander around the downtown, but here is a few advices for the city authorities. First of all, the ticketing system must correspond to Astana's ambitions. Placing several self-service ticket-selling machines instead - or in addition - to the obsolete kiosk (where salesperson sits behind bars) must become your priority. The second recommendation is for your longer-term planning. Given the fact that Astana is rather sprawled and *not ideally* connected, the municipality could be interested in making river boats a part of urban transit. It totally makes sense for everyone who wants to get to the Pyramid or the National Museum from the "Arbat", or, say, for those living in Highvill Residences and around it - to commute to the city center quickly, with no traffic hassle and pleasantly (okay, it's only during the navigation season, but still - it would make life so much easier both for locals and for tourists alike). Make several stops, and separate commercial tours from regular (commercial may start at the old pier near the City Beach).
