Self care has always been the “new black”. In this season I “care” enough about MY legacy to do what’s manageable + sustainable. I AM THRIVING + LIVING MY BEST LIFE.⁣ #YearOfBree⁣ ⁣ What does living your best life mean to you?

They say you should live a life worth remembering but I think you should take it to the next level and live a life were sharing. Share it in the form of stories to teach this generation and the next generation and many generations to come. What you do matters and how you do it matters even more!

WHAT THERE IS TO BE REVEALED/ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There’s a story that @TaraBrach tells that I want to share with you here. There was a monastery that had to be relocated in Bangkok and that meant that this big heavy, clay Buddha had to be moved. As the crane began to lift it, the sheer weight of it began to make it crack so they put it back down. When the head monk went to check on it, he noticed a little gleam within the crack. With great care and a chizzle, he returned to chip away at the clay and what was uncovered with the help of several others was a solid gold statue of the Buddha. Historians pieced together that when the Burmese army was getting ready to invade Thailand, the Siamese monks had covered the Buddha with plaster and clay to make sure it wouldn’t get looted. All of those monks got killed, but the Buddha survived. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is a lesson hidden within this story for us too. What I love about the story of the golden Buddha is that each of us covers ourselves over to protect ourselves from the challenges, the greed, and the aggression of others. But suffering begins to occur as we begin to identify with our coverings (the ways we present ourselves, the ways we defend ourselves, our addictions, and our accomplishments) and we forget the gold. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mindfulness has made this unlayering possible for me. It has allowed me to undo my false notions of what will keep me safe and my limited beliefs that have kept me living smaller than I am truly capable of. I am coming out of hiding behind my own needs and asking: WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ COMMENT which topics and questions you would like coaching around on my page.

I was on the phone with a friend complaining + confirming a fight that I was having with God. I was annoyed and didn’t want to do the “seemingly” right thing. Simultaneously, I was in line at a Starbucks drive-thru. I went to pay, but the Barista excitedly leaned over the window, with a big smile plastered on her face, and told me that the person in front of me paid for my $11.45 order!⁣ ⁣ My friend laughed and said, “marinate on that!” ⁣ ⁣ LESSON: Hush, let go + embrace a new normal.⁣ Things are going to happen so fast my head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. I won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere I look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains + hills. Everything will be made right again. Unknown blessings are in my future.⁣ ⁣ My life has CONSISTENTLY been one of overflow + ABUNDANCE.⁣ ⁣ This year, I AM no longer resisting uncertainty.⁣ ⁣ By the way, my dear friend hung up + left me to marinate on my Tuesday morning blessing. ⁣ ⁣ #YearOfBree
