I want to share something personal because, ladies, I feel like it needs to be said. I get told all the time by women that they’ll have portraits done after (insert perceived physical flaw here) is gone. After they lose weight, after they get better clothes, after they figure out whatever they’re letting win as an excuse. And while they wait for that “after”, their babies are growing, their memories go unpreserved, their business has less of their face than it needs, and it kills me! In this picture, the image I use on my website and social media to represent my brand and myself, I am 30 pounds heavier than I’ve been for the last few months. Yep! You can bet I wasn’t thrilled about it either. And I did it anyway, use the images anyway, and get told how great they are! Maybe you’re holding off until the scale has a better number on it, maybe you’re waiting for life to calm down, or maybe you just keep putting it off because you don’t enjoy seeing yourself in pictures. Whatever the reason, please, please stop. Take an hour to capture your babies being loved on by the mama they view as perfect, or show your customers the spark in you that sets your business apart, or get a photo of you and your love kissing like newlyweds up on your wall. Even if it’s just handing someone your phone to snap a few pics, you owe it to them and you owe it to yourself to freeze these moments before they’re gone. : @simplybeephoto

Today is #UndiagnosedDay, a day to raise awareness for the Undiagnosed Rare Disease Community . For those that don’t know, my daughter is 8 years old and her rare bone condition is still #undiagnosed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Kaylee is currently on her 3rd round of genetic testing in hopes that new discoveries have been made over the last few years. We are always hoping for more answers as the unknown can often be difficult to navigate not always having paved paths to follow and can feel very isolating at times. Despite the struggles and her daily pain, Kaylee is a strong and happy little girl full of laughter and loves to make friends with everyone. Kaylee had so much fun at the cutest little “Spring Fling Tea Party” this past Sunday . She had a tough Friday/Saturday and we were sad to have missed out on a good friends baby shower so this helped cheer her up. Kaylee’s already asking if she can do it again next year lol. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Each girl got to pick out their own DotDot smile dress, a necklace and a bow, decorated Easter headbands, colored Easter bags, had an egg hunt, were served “apple juice” tea with little sandwiches and snacks.
