“Surround yourself with only those that life you higher.” ~Oprah Winfrey I’m so lucky to have so many great people in my life that are so loving, supportive and positive. It’s been a rough 2 weeks, after months of feeling on a high of great training I just can’t seem to get over being sick. I’ve had some great conversations with mentors and friends in that time that have uplifted me when all I want to do is go smash myself in training. The toughest part of training with a young child at home is the germs that constantly run through the house, but the toddler snuggles and giggles are more than worth it. A 5km run and 2km swim this morning both felt kind of rough so not too sure how Victoria 70.3 will go on the weekend, but going to roll with it and just not do anything to screw up Ironman in 3.5 weeks. The best part of training at @ymcacalgary Brookfield Residential is that I can train in the pool, then go over to the water slides and have some fun definitely made me feel better about the swim.

That’s a wrap. Yesterday was the last working day for my classmates and me on our two year journey through Maggie Flanagan’s Meisner-Acting Conservatory. It has been the hardest struggle I’ve ever been through, where every day I had to face myself and mine deep into my soul and heart to find out what it really takes to illuminate the human experience, and in doing so I’ve had the two most rewarding years of my life. For the first time, I can say that I completed an education of my own choosing. I am beyond grateful to all the beautiful souls who have helped me through this along the way, and there have been a lot, and all I can do to repay you is to strive forward and make some amazing art with this new tool box I’ve acquired that no one can take away from me. That is what I shall do. The road ahead is winding and out of sight, but I am confident to travel on it, thanks to my teacher Charlie Sandlan. Charlie, thank you for being that teacher who never gave up on me, never went soft on me, and gave me the space to find out how to rise to your bar of work ethic and excellence on my own. I will forever cherish these years. We’ve built a foundation and a house, now it’s our job to go out into the world and furnace it. I’m so in love with this place, it’s hard to think two years has already past, but I am a lucky one to have @maggieflaniganstudio as my NYC home. Today is a sad one for us. I’ve always been completely transparent with you guys and I won’t back down now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While it was our decision to move to Australia and we were lucky enough to do so, today I feel like moving back. Ok, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but you’ll see soon why. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t have kids yet, but we do have two lovely dogs, Roxy 10y/o and Toffee 5y/o, that mean a lot to us. They are our babies, our souls, our everything and we’ll do anything to be reunited with them. They should have embarked on the plane today and we would have been able to see them in 12 days (after they’ve been quarantined), but no. The Universe had something else planned. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In case you didn’t know, it is really difficult to bring pets here and that is not at all an overstatement. It’s harder for us to get them here than it was to have our visa granted, but again we are not complaining. Fair enough, the Australian government is very strict when it comes to biosecurity and certain steps must be followed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well, one of the test results came out as positive and, although it is not something too serious, we have to do further vaccinations which require at least another 8 weeks until we can put them on the plane. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You see, ‘living the dream’ most often than not requires sacrifices and we are not whole until we are reunited with our doggies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you have any pets?
