Do you ever have those days where you feel so crampy, bloated and blah that you just want to be comfy. Well, today was one of those days. Absolutely... I am living proof of this .. turning 40 was a fantastic turning point for me ... I retrained as a Personal Trainer and can now help others on their fitness journey... I have always been focused on fitness, fitted it in between my children’s life and I have always been slim . However this does not always equate to being healthy, i was slim but my visceral fat was high for my weight , my body fat percentage was high too , considering I was a slim size uk 8 I definitely did not want to stop taking care of myself as I approached middle age ... in my case 40 was the new 30 ... So including weights into my workout, looking at how i ate and decreasing how much chocolate I ate ... I might never have gained weight but it was not doing my insides any good .. more rainbow colours on my plate ( more colourful vegetables) , less meat and more protein from plant based sources ... Results do not happen overnight .. it took a good year to see results of fat and visceral level come down ... I am still now on this project as I now want more definition .. So .. whatever stage in your life you are at ... take care of yourself If you are a new mum .. the postpartum period is important to you and your baby .. however once you have the all clear to exercise then take it gently, also especially if breastfeeding do not decrease your calories. Will be doing a post about pregnancy/ postpartum nutrition / exercise. If interested in post pregnancy nutrition take a look at @savoirfayreuk who specialises in this area of nutrition... The menopause is also a challenging time for women , although not there yet myself .. I will do at some point and i want to give my body/ mind a head start to help me in this time of my life ... As for over 60 .. It may take a little longer to do things but who says you can’t do a HIIT class / spin / weight train / run .. obviously look at your health . If knees are an issue then low impact work may be beneficial... Pelvic floor may need to be addressed.. Life is full of different stages ... Looking to be the best version of yourself..
