REVIEW AND THOUGHTS! ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ 2012. This is the second season in the anthology horror based tv show, American Horror Story created by Ryan Murphy. In my opinion after watching this season, there is a lot to like, there is even more to dislike though. Let’s get the negatives out of the way, this season has the most episodes out of every season, the pacing is awful, this season just seems to drag. The ending was very lack luster. Way too much happening, we have mental hospital, religion, nazi experiments, demonic possession, and aliens all in one season! Stick to one idea and nail that, this season suffered from too much happening and non of it makes much sense when you look at the overall season. It’s so all over the place! Now let’s talk about some of the positives and stand out performances, the cinematography is amazing, really nailed that gritty feel and look, the acting was all around pretty solid once again, Jessica Lange was really good as Sister Jude. The highlight of this season was defiantly Zachary Quinto as Dr. Thredson who is then later revealed to be the bloodyface killer. He steals the show this season. James Cromwell was also a very nice surprise, does he ever do a bad job? All in all, not awful, but pretty straining to get through the whole season and have it make sense, just too many ideas in the fire and had they just picked one and only one, I really think it would have made this season great. With all that being said, I would rate this season 4/10, it would be lower honestly if the actors and cast didn’t do a phenomenal job with the material they were given. Institutionalization; An umbrella term commonly defining those who have been affected physcologically, emotionally and physically due to spending time inside wether a prison, mental institution, hospital or the like. However this state is much more prevalent in normal day to day lives, widely spread right beneathe our very noses... It begins first in birth then the daycare system, kindergarten system, school system and finally the 9 - 5 system. For better word of this cycle some call "life" I'm going to call it the generational modern day self-inflicted slavery... Of which the same instituitionalized defects apply ie People become more and more like lab rats generating behavioural patterns governed not by enviromental factors but man made factors such as habits or time - a time for food, sleep, work, socializing and then doors closed time. When one becomes "free" or escapes the confines they're trapped in, they feel lost - realizing that they have become so used to hand outs, they now have no life skills so go back to the same patterns continously. From being fed: - Knowledge: People lost the ability to think for themselves, - Food: People lost the ability to hunt/gather for themselves, - Shelter: People lost the ability to build for themselves, - Exchange Skills - People lost the ability to create for themselves. And so the list goes on...It's in the News, Grocery Stores, 3D Printers, Money etc. All designed to keep the sedation of mankinds abilities at bay to strive only to serve the corporate brainwashers at the top. Let's keep these things carried down, don't let the language of life be lost. Some will call this laziness, manipulation or ignorance - it's a culmination of all, somewhat similar to climatization whereby humanity gradually becomes so reliant on systematic institutions. That they're genetically unable to live without intervention, thus the perfect manufactured consumer/follower with no shackles needed. Sound like you need to escape?  Break time itself,  Break routines,  Break the binds systems hold over you,  Reteach yourself freedom. Don't deprive the soul survive... Awake?
