When eating out (and eating in general) there is an abundance of misconceptions regarding what’s ‘good and bad’. This results in the inevitable and unnecessary elimination of the food you want, for something you’ll tolerate because of a useless black and white theory regarding food choices.⠀
.⠀
Unless you enjoy them more, choosing brown bread over white is as pointless as choosing sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. Whilst there may be more fibre in some foods, one’s fibre intake is something one can consider across overall diet, but surely not when out with friends for an enjoyable evening.⠀
.⠀
Consumption of one mildly excessive, non controlled meal out of 20-25 weekly meals will not impact progress. By the same token, several calorie dense meals per week with lack of caloric knowledge may become an issue depending on overall lifestyle. In this case, caloric understanding is important.⠀
.⠀
Ideally, if you know for certain that a particular choice will be more beneficial to your goal whilst enjoying it, this is the perfect time to strike as you have control and accurate knowledge. However, these opportunities may be minimal.⠀
.⠀
Some restaurant chains provide nutritional information online which is helpful. This often highlights that the perceived ‘healthy’ salad or pasta dish you chose to watch your figure is just as dense in calories as the burger or pizza you would have preferred.⠀
.⠀
Enjoy supporting your goal consistently with flexible, but robust organisation. Relish regular, but moderate intake of all foods you enjoy. But above all, try to become aware regarding the basic nutritional information of the foods/drinks that you consume, their regularity and relevance to your goal.⠀
.⠀
This way, instead of watching your friend enjoy the food you desperately wanted, you too can enjoy it because you can facilitate its inclusion into your overall diet. All the while keeping a close, informed eye on your figure. ⠀

❤️TRANSFORMATION
#transformationtuesday Same top, almost 3 stone difference and let’s talk about clothes sizes...
.
Okay let’s talk about the top first; my sister gave it to me just over a year ago (it was too big for her ). It’s a size 12, and a bodysuit! So in the first picture I was BUZZING I could fit into it (even though I couldn’t actually do it up and just had to tuck it in) as I definitely wasn’t a size 12!!
.
I dug it out of my wardrobe this week and put it on and it STILL fits - I’m still definitely not a size 12, but it fits properly and I can do up the buttons! I’m amazed at how different it looks though! Sometimes I honestly feel like I still look like the girl on the left but comparing pictures like this really shows you how far you’ve come!
.
And let me tell you a little secret... that black pair of jeans were a size 18. To be wearing blue jeans rather than black in the second picture is a miracle in itself as it’s not the ‘slimming’ colour that black is... but guess what - those jeans are ALSO a size 18! 3 stone down and I’m wearing the same sized jeans! And I’m not ashamed of it ♀️ (okay the blue ones are getting slightly roomy now but they definitely still fit!)
.
In BOTH of these pictures I’m wearing a size 12 top and size 18 bottoms. 3 stone difference between the pictures and that’s 4 dress sizes apart on top and bottom. If that doesn’t tell you to stop worrying about clothes sizes I don’t know what will! Buy clothes you love, in a size that you are comfortable in, and look amazing in! But please don’t worry about the actual numbers, they mean NOTHING, and they don’t dictate how good you look in an outfit
.
Side note: I WISH I had taken inch measurements from the beginning just look at the difference! If you’re just starting out, do it!!! I do it now and have a really cute tape measure from @princess.planning - get one and measure! Amazing to see the inches coming off when perhaps the scales are not your friend! (Ps ‘BEC10’ gets you 10% off your @princess.planning order!)

My Fitness Pal hints & tips HIT SAVE If you’re tracking calories and macros, here are my top tips for getting the best out of free version of @myfitnesspal:
1️⃣ Track as often as possible, even at the weekends - even when *whispers* you accidentally eat ALL THE FOOD. Why? Well your deficit over time is important - occasional treats are fine, but try and balance that out across the week. You can check your weekly intake on MFP by going to Nutrition, then selecting Calories and then the Week View
2️⃣ Most of us are creatures of habit... spending a few minutes saving your regular meals and recipes on MFP really helps with speedy logging - or copy across by swiping from the previous day’s diary
3️⃣ Once you’ve logged a meal, turn your phone landscape and a whole heap of EXTRA macro information will appear! ✨
4️⃣ The Nutrition section isn’t just for calorie and macro counting - scroll down and check out your nutrient intake for the week. I discovered my diet was seriously deficient in calcium (so important to guard us ladies from Osteoporosis) iron (for energy and healthy blood) and magnesium (for good sleep, amongst other things!) I have now tweaked my diet and added supplements to improve my overall heath.
