I have frosted over 250 cupcakes this week plus a cake.... like most things I bit off more than I can chew but I have really challenged myself in new ways. I’ve learned a lot about who I am as an artist and a baker and sometimes you just really get in a good groove and you make cupcakes as beautiful as these. So thankful for the birthday, bridal shower, teacher appreciation, and Mother’s Day orders this week. I’ve felt so honored to be a part of everyone’s special day

Isn’t it amazing how much stuff we can figure out with Google? Today was just a day that was a little bit harder than normal. I really was missing my family. I thought it sounded good to have a hotdish we always had when I was growing up. It was #hamburgerhelper Rice Oriental. I wasn’t able to find it in store so I googled to see if I could find a recipe. I found one and gave it a try. It turned out really good. Thank goodness for google. What’s one of the most memorable times you used google for help? This post might hurt a little.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ It's Mother's Day.⠀⠀ Happy Mother's Day.⠀⠀ I'm a mom, in the traditional and non-traditional sense.⠀⠀ And I honor that this day might be another slap in the face down a long road of pain for you.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ There's many women who want more than anything to have a baby of their own, but for whatever reason, it hasn't happened yet...and sadly, may not happen in this life. I see you. I honor your journey. I want you to know that this doesn't mean you are broken, unworthy of love, or that the world isn't grateful for your presence.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ We can simultaneously honor the mothers in our lives and hold space for those who want nothing more than to hold a baby in their arms.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ There's also those of us who don't have mothers. Maybe they passed on. Or maybe they are still figuring out who they are in this world & as such, are unable to be the mother you need them to be.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ While a woman did birth me into this world, she didn't mother me. She instead repeated the abusive patterns of her mother. So while I can feel the joy of being a mother myself, I also feel the sting of this reminder today.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ On this path I've walked this lifetime I've come to realize this, my less than ideal childhood caused me to wake up sooner in this world and recognize the work I am here to do. It also has inspired me to be a better mother. And without these very difficult lessons (and plenty of mental/ emotional therapies on lock) I wouldn't be the woman I am today. I also have the opportunity to break the pattern, heal the lineage, and mother my son with so much love.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I also want you to know that if this day stings you're not alone. Recognize that pain can sometimes be the greatest gift in moving you closer to your purpose and a life you love. It's one of those things where you can simultaneously hate it and be grateful for it.⠀⠀ If you're not at a place of gratitude yet, please trust the process of where you are and seek help where you need it on this journey. ⠀⠀ Much love to all of you.
