Our blended family grew a little bigger this morning! Momma Sophia gave birth to three beautiful babies! We figured she was close to delivery as she has been nesting the past few days, checking out her options for a good place to have her kittens. Out of all the choices we gave her, she gave birth to the first two kittens behind a rocking chair on a blanket and then moved them into the cat tree! My husband found them there when we came downstairs this morning. We quickly moved them to a safer place as we thought she was finished since she was walking around eating. Nope. We set her up in her birthing box and as she was nursing the first two, the third baby arrived. It was so amazing to watch! Momma Diana is now Auntie Diana and she has been showing Sophie support from outside the birthing area. Swipe to see some photos of our exciting morning! Momma Amelia Bedelia told me it was okay to introduce her babies! She gets a little nervous when I have my phone out and when I go over the top of her head with my arm so I’ve been trying to give them some space to make sure the babies get enough to eat and she is comfortable. I am happy to report that they all are in the range of 11.5-13.5 ounces! So much improvement! If I wouldn’t have seen this with my own eyes, I would have never believed it! I think Momma to be Sophia could sense that Momma Diana was not feeling 100% percent and was tired, so she stepped in to help and support her. She laid next to her while she was nursing and then when she left the babies for a break and to eat, she snuggled with them and kept them warm!
