It is one of the famous painted monasteries from southern Bukovina, in Suceava County. The monastery was constructed by Stephen the Great ( Ștefan cel Mare) in 1488 over a period of 3 months and 3 weeks to commemorate the victory at Battle of Vaslui. The monastery is located to the south of Gura Humorului in Suceava County, in the valley of the Voroneț River. The legend of the origin of the church unites two men central to Romanian history: the founder of the monastery, Stephen the Great, and Saint Daniil the Hermit, the first abbot of the monastery. Γι αυτό και το φωτοστέφανο του Χριστού σε πολλές αγιογραφίες έχει το Α και το Ω από τη λέξη ΑΓΑΠΩ. Δεν είναι καθόλου τυχαίο και τίποτα δεν είναι τυχαίο μέσα στην Εκκλησία, όλα έχουν τη συμβολική τους. Επίσης πολλές φορές συναντάμε στην αγιογραφία του Χριστού το Ω και το Ν που είναι ο Ων, δηλαδή ο Υπάρχων. Αυτός που Υπάρχει και είναι ο Θεός. Claustro del Monasterio de San Andres De Arroyo. Palencia. Espero que veáis las cuatro fotos de este ángulo del #claustro, que es el mas fotografiado del monasterio de #sanandresdearroyo. La causa es esta excepcional columna en zigzag rematada por un #capitel, que en su filigrana, alcanza unos límites imposibles de superar en arenisca. Difícil mas finura y elegancia, de la zona de #campoo. Arte #cisterciense de un románico tardío del siglo XIII, formando parte de un conjunto monástico femenino que sigue manteniendo sus funciones a día de hoy, por lo que los horarios de visita turística son bastante reducidos y estrictos. Incluso inexistentes en invierno. Hasta hace bien poco, una fotografía aquí era algo impensable.
