I was pregnant with my oldest and while we were on vacation we had a terrible scare. He drove us home (4 hours) in the middle of the night and prayed without ceasing until my appointment and ultrasound would confirm the next morning that we still had a heartbeat. I will never forget the moment that he threw away the handout they gave us in the ER about miscarriages, and reassured me that our baby was fine and he was standing firm in faith. • With 2 kids now, I cried and doubted so many things. Due to a host of personal circumstances that were extremely challenging, and making the incredibly difficult decision to move across the country with a toddler & four month old, I felt as though I was letting my new baby down. Like somehow she was getting the short end of the stick and I wasn’t giving her enough of myself. He reassured me that I am exactly the mama both my kids needed, and that even with the major changes on the horizon we would get through it all together. He prayed and stood firm in faith. • 2 miscarriages later, the guilt, shame and doubt were so real. I wondered if I missed God’s voice and considered letting go of the belief that we’d be blessed with a 3rd baby to complete our family here on earth. He held my hand, looked me in the eyes and told me that this part of our story was not yet over. He anointed my stomach with oil, then he prayed and stood firm in faith.. • I pray that one day our dear daughters will have a true understanding of the way their daddy has loved them, cared for and protected them from the beginning. And I pray he knows that we recognize that there is absolutely no one like him.. • Happy Father’s Day to my best friend and the best daddy I could ask for to lead our girls.
