Touched down in Mandalay to find our luggages lost somewhere in transit but with limited time in Mandalay, we hopped onto this small wooden boat and watched the sun set against the U Bein Bridge ⁣ ⁣ Also managed to catch a fisherman cast his net into the lake! ⁣ ⁣ Couple hours later, our luggages made their way to us... phew! Wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off. Shoes are not allowed within the compounds of temples/pagodas and it is no fun messing around with show-laces in the heat.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 2. Keep your legs and shoulders covered when visiting temples.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 3. Don't be disappointed if you can't find a pagoda that you can climb. With thousands of pagodas in this area, you can't take a bad photo here

Images of hot air balloons floating over pagodas was what lured me to make my way to Myanmar. But the raw beauty and intensity that I had experienced was much more than the hot air balloons .⁣ ⁣ This is possibly my favourite spot in Bagan. We came here twice and each time we had the place to ourselves because it is located off the beaten path from the touristy area. ⁣ ⁣ And because it is so difficult to find a good viewpoint when you can't climb temples anymore, I thought I will save the location of this spot 21.162987, 94.895822 if you are visiting Bagan.
