How is this view of the Dubai sunrise? I love this shot. You know when you’re in a moment and you just know it’s one of those that you’ll remember for the rest of your life? This was one of those moments for me. I’ll never forget riding this camel through the desert and watching this clear and epic sun come up. After a great night of entertainment and great food, followed by hookah, drinks, and great conversation at camp, I went to bed looking forward to this morning. We woke up around 5:45, got on our camels, and off we went. Our guide took us to the perfect spot, and the picture says the rest. When in Dubai, FIND THIS SUNRISE CAMEL RIDE EXCURSION. This is what it looks like from the 148th floor, Sky level, at the Burj Khalifanin downtown Dubai. What a view rightMeanwhile, the voices in my head are screaming, “DO NOT DROP YOUR PHONE!!!” What’s crazy to me is looking down on these other skyscrapers that are 50+ stories tall and actually look tiny from this view. I spent HOURS up there. There were complimentary drinks and refreshments at this level along with a restaurant one or two levels below. It’s the world’s highest elevation restaurant, but I didn’t get a chance to eat there. I feel like their prices are probably elevated as well lol, cuz where else are you gonna go, right? I highly recommend making your way up the Burj. The elevators are the fastest in the world and basically everything you’re seeing can’t be seen from anywhere on this planet. How is this sunset at the Dubai beach The next time I go I plan on spending a full day lounging there. On this day, though, I only got to pass through quickly as the sun was setting and capture this one shot.From here I made my way to Atlantis at the Palm and had an incredible sushi dinner to close out my trip. The one iconic building that was close by that I didn’t get a chance to go see was the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. You’ve seen it, right? It’s that one that’s shaped like a sail that you’ve probably seen in a million pictures. We drove by it and I only got one quick snap from a moving bus. I’ll need to see it up close and personal next time for sure. The one good thing about not seeing a few things you wanted to see on a trip is it gives you a perfect reason to go back. Just in case you thought Dubai’s Burj Khalifa was a one trick pony being the tallest building in the world... watch its light show action. Are you kidding me? Not only did they create this structure that goes straight into the heavens and looks like it landed here from another planet, but the engineer decided, “Hey let’s put LEDs up the entire face of it and do a light show synced to music every hour”. I was walking through the awesome area around the Dubai fountains which is lined with restaurants and spots to drink when this suddenly happened. I had no idea the building did this! It’s even more striking in person. And then there’s the fountains’ show every half hour which make the Bellagio fountains pale in comparison. If you haven’t been to Dubai, the Dubai mall area is the spot to call home base. So much to see and do and the views are amazing. . . . #burjkhalifadubai #burjkhalifalightshow #tallestbuilding

When in Dubai, it’s very hard to take any pictures without featuring the Burj Khalifa. Every morning I would get up, take the elevator down from my apartment in downtown Dubai, walk down this incredible boardwalk leading the Dubai mall, and make my way to the IHOP that had an great second story outside dining area overlooking the Burj Khalifa. And just outside that Ihop there’s this heart-shaped, polished mirror-type sculpture similar to the Bean everyone takes a picture with in Chicago, but on a much smaller scale. So of course, I had to take my picture. It’s hard to really grasp just how epic that structure is in the background but it’s almost like aliens brought it down from another planet and jabbed it into the earth.
