Третий пошёл! Жук-олень. В жизни я боюсь этих "клешней" , а рисовать их интересно, зазубринки рассматривать... В рисовании животных очень помогает книга Джона Лоуза; биолог по образованию, он рассказывает очень просто о конструктивном строении тел разных представителей царства. Это как анатомия для художников, только не людей, а животных (ну и растений, но тут мой фаворит Сара Симблет). Can’t believe I found this beautiful northern flicker on the city sidewalk today. Poor guy must’ve been far from home. Looks like he hit a building window just before I found him, zero signs of decay, almost no external damage. Hoping to preserve this big guy soon. . UPDATE: As it turns out, this species is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so unfortunately I cannot keep or preserve him. But I understand the law is in place to protect these birds from us, from unlawful killing and trading.
