Sappy story time here: On January 17th 2016, Lauren and I took a trip to Charleston for a @yoga_girl workshop. We weren’t really friends—we honestly barely knew each other. But we had a goal in mind, and that was to bring tasty kombucha to our friends. We wanted to start off by taking orders from @wfuniversity students, and seeing where it went from there. We discussed our action plan for our first “product launch” while sitting at @butcherandbee and enjoying lunch outside on a beautiful day in Charleston. We posted on Instagram that we were open for business, and that we were capable of making 40 bottles () for our first round of orders. Within an hour, we had reached our order capacity. Lauren and I felt (and still feel) so grateful for that initial group of people who supported us and believed in us from the beginning. We had customers! Supporters! What a feeling. ✨ Over the last few years, we have slowly grown our business and expanded into many different cities in NC and SC. This week, I returned to Charleston and back to the place where it all started, @butcherandbee. To have our kombucha at their restaurant is a surreal experience. Hard work pays off, and the ups and downs of business are totally worth the ride. Thank you, all of you. We love you.

I've spent the past week basically timberframing these eave brackets (or corbels) for a house in Durham. They're made of 5"x5" wet cypress and there are 17 of them. I'm completely exhausted but banging in those pegs made me feel pretty hardcore.

It just keeps growing! The #100daywallhanging is chugging along and although yesterday I redid a large section, it is still growing! - We are about 1/3 of the way into #the100dayproject so size-wise this is 1/3 of the final size! - I am currently planning how to best keep working on this project while traveling Scotland with Adam and his choir... we leave in a little over a week and I plan to keep stitching everyday while we are there! So I’m currently seeing how many strips of fabric I can fit into one bag and guessing how much embroidery floss I will need. I won’t bring the large base piece with me. I plan on just stitching new additions during the trip and then attaching them all when I get home! It will be interesting to essentially “work blind” for awhile not knowing how what I am making will look with the larger piece. - This project is an adventure to say the least so the Scotland coils will continue that theme! - Do you travel with your artwork often? What do you bring?
