I can’t believe my time in this beautiful country is already half over. Even though I don’t know anything about nutrition (for those who don’t know, I’m here with @neem_nonprofit to teach nutrition education), this trip has been life-changing and has allowed me to see the country I love in a completely different way. LA ARAÑA ROJA ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ La araña roja puede invadir nuestras plantas. Siempre una plaga es un problema y, si se da en cultivos en interior, puede poner en riesgo todo nuestro cultivo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ La araña roja es un microácaro, pero no siempre es roja: pueden ser blancos, verdes clarito o rojos muy oscuro, casi marrones. Y pueden ser una verdadera invasión [foto 1]. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Se alimentan de la savia de la planta, dejando una marquitas en las hojas [foto2]. Avanzan muy rápido, en especial cuando la temperatura aumenta, algo que en un indoor puede ser más que habitual más allá de estar en invierno. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Podemos erradicar las arañitas pulverizando la planta con jabón potásico, aceite de neem e infusión de canela (10 ml de jabón potásico y 10 ml de aceite de neem en 1 litro de infusión de canela) dos o tres veces por semana. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Si la infección es muy grande y no podemos frenarla con esto, podés usar entonces un plaguicida a base de abamectina, siempre siguiendo las instrucciones con cuidado.
