My little labelled baby •
Such a great tool for neonatal revision if you’re a visual learner! I’ve labelled parts of the fetal skull, aspects of the baby you might check in a standard neonatal check as well as few more specific checks performed in the NIPE♀️ •

Cornflake and Liza! These two are the best of friends, preferring each other to everyone and everything- except snacks! Thank you to the kind person who sent the extra shelf for their condo. It arrived without a note. These cat condos have been absolutely incredible. You can see how much Cornflake and Liza enjoy their digs
I just put a link to my GoFundMe fundraiser in my Instagram profile. Any amount that we can raise for these 5 abandoned babies is very much appreciated! They were left in a cardboard box in a shopping center in Orange, California (see previous post for photo). No momma cat with them. I am already quite overwhelmed with the amount of foster kittens we are already caring for. Bottle babies like these are a lot of work! Feedings round the clock and tons of TLC. But look at how precious they are. I’m going to do everything in my power to get them strong and healthy and eventually adopted! I’ll be posting lots of updates on their progress. Huge thanks to Eva @critterosity for acting fast and bringing them to me! You can see more of the kittens’ origin story in Eva’s Instagram “stories”. Just click on her icon. ❤️

Cornflake hanging out in his luxury penthouse suite He’s eating wet food like a champ, using his litter box, and growing like a perfect diminutive dandelion. Fostering him has been an utter joy, a balm to my aching heart. There is exponentially more happiness in caring for them than there is pain. ❤️
Rocky Road with a little banana, for kicks! Rocky has lost all four of his siblings, and we came very close to losing him, too. Thankfully I was able to keep him afloat through the unknown illness and he has been thriving ever since. He’s just about ready for his neuter surgery and then it’s time for a forever home! He has brought us so much joy and I am so excited for him to share that with the people he chooses. If you’d like to adopt this snuggly sweet, pink-bellied baby, send me a DM. ❤️
Five hungry Houseplants having a snack! From top to bottom Bonsai, Peperomia, Aloe Vera, Fern, and Fiddle Leaf Fig Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has sent canned food! I ran out just as packages began to arrive. We’ll be set for at least a few weeks! I feel so much relief and fourteen kittens are super thrilled too. Folks, you keep us going. Thank you, from the weirdest, deepest parts of my heart. ALSO: I’m going to give them a bath later because weaning can be so messy. Please know it’s TOTALLY OKAY for kittens to be bathed! A veterinarian will tell you this, I promise! There are so many misconceptions about bathing cats but the whole point is to keep them healthy. I don’t bathe them for my benefit. I bathe them to rid their fur of fleas, poop, food residue they can’t remove themselves. They’re babies. I wash babies, folks. That’s the deal.
Coraline arrived caked in filth and fleas. Fleas consume blood and therefore eliminate blood, leaving what looks like tiny black dirt all over an animal’s body. For this reason, the presence of waste is called flea dirt, and is found in many kittens born outside without proper care. It just looks like dirt, but can cause life threatening anemia very quickly in neonatal kittens. I try to imagine having bugs crawling all over my body, indefinitely, with no way to understand and no avenue to be rid of them to properly empathize with how miserable fleas must be. There is a common misconception that you shouldn’t bathe kittens or cats. If you feel I shouldn’t have bathed him, I’d like for you to think about bugs, covering your body, sucking your blood, and then don’t comment about not bathing Coraline. He’s comfortable in the warm water. He didn’t cry or flinch, he even lapped at the water from the faucet and peered imploringly at me when I gave him a little soak. Afterward he had the Puff Blowout treatment and he felt so much better. Well worth a three minute bath. ❤️ #aboynamedcoraline
