Some Reminders: •I'm nonbinary and I'm (still) a part of the trans community. •Nonbinary people who express more as their assigned gender are a part of the trans community. •Nonbinary people of color are a part of the trans community. •People outside of western/American cultures who may use other labels to express existence outside of a gender binary are a part of the trans community. •People with disabilities are a part of the trans community. - - - I could go on but my points are the following: •Not every transgender person/narrative is the same •Not every journey involves dysphoria •Not every person falls into the gender binary •There is no one "true" way/look to being transgender/nonbinary •Transgender/nonbinary people can pursue any form of transitioning and it only effects them. - - ●If you don't like seeing nonbinary people transition medically, trans people who don't experience dysphoria at all or just not in the same ways you do I have two ideas; 1. Look within yourself and ask why this makes you so uncomfortable/mad/etc. Think of the times you've been mistreated with some form discrimination or microaggression. Have you internalized this and felt someone else either at an intersection or in a more vulnerable group is "at fault" for your oppression? If so, please go educate yourself. Me being nonbinary, a person questioning their gender identity or someone else not having dysphoria is NOT a threat to yours or anyone else's journey. - - ● The threat is both the active and systemic oppression of trans people AND the people within the trans community who choose to uphold that same system of oppression because someone isn't "trans enough". 2. If anything from point 1 bothered you, made you feel irrationally angry or defensive in any way please feel free to scroll past this, unfollow me even; if what I'm doing or saying is such a hard pill to swallow then I strongly urge you to either 1.Confront that discomfort and grow Or 2. Mind Your Business.
