I bumped into the manager of a local cafe the other day and was shocked to learn they’re still using plastic straws, given that they’ve positioned themselves as a healthy all-day eatery with adaptogens, CBD this and that, etc. Tell your favorite coffee shops and cafes to make the switch. @smithcanteen went from plastic straws to paper @aardvarkstraws and it was no big deal. This photo is of environmentalist and diver @kseaturner and just a few of the straws she found on a dive trip. It’s a good reminder to start saying no to single use plastic. Cups, straws, utensils. Carry your own and show the planet some love. It’s an easy habit to get into. This is a beach in Mumbai, India... Can you even imagine?! You go to the beach, and instead of swimming in the water with the fish, you're swimming in the water with the plastic. That is exactly what will happen if we don't start making small changes to reduce our plastic pollution. (Obviously don't be a litter bug either ) Some are going full fledged, and doing everything they can to never use plastic again - in today's world, it's possible...but it's VERY hard to do so. There are so many ways we can simply just refuse to use single-use plastics. I was at the grocery store noticing how many people feel the NEED to use single-use, because it's so ingrained as a habit to carry everything in a plastic bag.
