Sunday 7/28: PULP is what happens when we take our Pulp Free Westcoast IPA, drop the bittering additions and package it without any fining agents, leaving it turbid and creamy. Using a slightly more fruit-focused yeast strain this IPA kicks-off complimentary yeast esters of over-ripe peaches falling from the tree that pair perfectly with its hops. While none of our beers are ever filtered, PULP exemplifies this with the appearance of an opaque monster that adds a nice juicy mouthfeel to the beer, making it stick to the palate in an aggressive nature. The abundance of Citra hops create an aromatic bombardment that smells like a Sunday drive through a citrus orchard in peak of season; with notes of fresh orange, yellow grapefruit, and juicy sweet mango trekking from the first sniff to the last sip. PULP delivers just what we want, pure juicy hop deliciousness in its most natural of forms. ‪Sunday 7/28: It's truly humbling to be brewing a collaboration to commemorate the 5th anniversary of @hopgrenade. What is The Hop Grenade you ask? Well it's an incredible craft beer bar in Concord, California that is owned and operated by The @BrewingNetwork. What is The Brewing Network? Glad you asked. For those of you unfamiliar with them, The Brewing Network is a 14 year old podcast group covering pretty much all things beer. A lot of us back in the day got into craft beer for one reason or another, but one reason certainly wasn't because it was cool, which it most certainly wasn't. In 2005 the craft beer community was filled with misfits looking for something different, a new type of camaraderie. We were the weird, the socially awkward, the not at the party doing keg stands and showing off abs behind a white bedsheet. We were in one form or another the nerd, in need of a crew. Then in walks in The Brewing Network, to provide us with an endless supply of beer education, entertainment, and discourse that would have a ripple effect throughout the industry. We asked if they wanted to brew a super hazy milkshake chocolate Double IPA with us and to our shock, they said no. Instead we payed homage to their home and ours, the Westcoast, with Destructive Devices Westcoast IPA. A moderately bitter, highly aromatic, and mildly malty IPA brewed to usher in this old-school form factor to the era of the juicy hops. Citra, Enigma, and Amarillo combine to supercharge this hyper-crushable hop monster with massive notes of fresh squeezed orange juice, overly ripened yellow peaches, cantaloupe, and for Tasty's approval, a bit of that giggle bush. @cellarmakerbrewing @greatnotionpdx Cellarmaker Brewing x Great Notion Brewing collab - Neapolitan Pillow Fight Milkshake DIPA, San Francisco CA | Was excited to check out this collab between two awesome breweries. Lately I haven’t been digging milkshake IPAs, just sorta burnt out of them but still had to get my hands on this. Love me some Neapolitan ice cream tho and this was obviously brewed with cacao nibs, strawberries, vanilla and marshmallows. Beer was spot on. Literally got all those flavors meshing well without one overpowering the other and dug this one. Glad I tried this but think I’m gonna stray away from milkshakes for a bit! Also big mahalo to @dj_likes_craftbeer for the assist on this!
