It’s an emotional landscape out there.
Pisces season always takes us into the depths of our subconscious. Ask yourself, what is your resistance to your dream? What is your default state? What is your default vibration?
Real change takes effort and time. Know that if you have been working really hard, those internal changes are about to be mirrored in your external reality.
Take baby steps, focus on what’s right in front of you. You have everything you need to handle and work towards your dream today.
Don’t get overwhelmed by what feels or seems to be a mountain. Just take it one step at a time, and keep moving forward.
If you’re feeling resistance, then take a step back. Retreat. Meditate. Allow that resistance that lives within your subconscious to surface and be revealed to you. Awareness is key.

I’ve also finally warmed up to this posh lino carving tool by Pfeil that I’ve owned for months but never quite clicked with before.

I used to think it was because I’m so un-posh at heart that I’ve always preferred my little £1.99 exacto knife to all those fancy tools you can get. I really did try to love my new Pfeil tool (mostly because I was so in love with its sculptural form) (OK so I am a BIT of a ponce because I do love making all the little details around the creative process as aesthetically pleasing as possible….)

I’ve been struggling to feel genuine about setting an intention lately and I realized that the Universe was trying to tell me something through that exact struggle... I need to let gooooooo of control. Once I had this realization I had this funny image pop in my head of me with a bunch of rubber chickens that make those awfully annoying noises when you squeeze their necks. You know the ones I’m talking about? Those chickens represented me squeezing the life out of everything I was trying to do right now personally, professionally, mentally, and spiritually. I honestly feel like I’ve been running in circles! But, I have a little clarity now and am continuing to open myself up to guidance and checking myself when I feel like I’m starting to “strangle the rubber chicken” again. So, yeah. Welcome to the inner ramblings of my silly brain ✌⠀

We are all gardeners in some manner. Gardeners of time and place. Gardeners of souls and spirits. We sow seeds with our words, our hands, our smiles. It can be exhausting work at times. It can be a messy process at times. How do we tend our own souls in the process of doing so much? ⠀

One way, I care for myself in the process is by unplugging for a full day each week, and in some seasons even a little longer. The online world never sleeps and can be a quick reminder to me of how much there is to do. Does anyone else get the “too many tabs in my brain are open” feeling? Shutting down my screens to take time to sort through thoughts or current tasks always helps! ⠀

this is me, driving on the Autobahn to Berlin, enjoying the sunshine and good music, until a panic attack hit me. so this is me, trying to behave like a pro.
what to do when a panic is coming while driving? * get out of your head. most times a panic or anxiety starts with some thoughts or worries. let these thoughts hit the road, jack, and don’t they come back no more no more...
* take a break. focus on the street, remind yourself that you have the full control of this situation. drive to the next stop station if possible.
* open the window, get some fresh air and sind loudly and proudly. it always helps me to get back in „travel mood“.

Hi, friends! Many of you know I'm a self-care enthusiast. I think boundaries are self-care. Saying no is self-care. Sometimes saying yes is self-care. Creativity is self-care. Cultivating quiet, asking for what we need, embracing our stories and vulnerabilities, food and movement, and so much more. All self-care.

Lately, I've been struggling on the food and movement front but I've been upping my self-care game in other ways, and that's ok. Embracing quiet and the stillness that comes with adjusting to life in a tiny town has been super soul nourishing. The evenings are SO QUIET. The neighborhoods are filled with sounds of birds and wind, with deer and wild turkeys just hanging around. The stars are incredible, the sky wide open and black with silence.

There are invitations everywhere in this new life to pause and embrace the stillness. It's a new way of living for me having lived in a bustling city for most of my life. So far I'm loving the dialed down volume of stimulation and noise. I'm loving the exhale, the peace, and the newness of a fresh start.
.
I know I'll refresh my focus soon on food and movement. I'm giving myself all kinds of permission to be kind to myself as we navigate all of this. We're almost there - I can see the finish line as our build is coming to a close this month. Meanwhile, I'll have this sticky note on the mirror of our air bnb rental - a gentle reminder to nurture nurture nurture.
