Another absolute banger from last week’s shoot I’ve been getting a lot of messages about editing, so figured I’d cover this shoot’s process with this post. An awesome advantage to shooting OCF is that you have complete control of your lighting which allows you to pretty much get it perfect in camera. This cuts down on editing time significantly and I usually don’t spend more than 5-7 minutes on an image. My workflow starts in Lightroom where I organize and select my imports, as well as apply some quick slider adjustments. I got to shoot with some pretty incredible photographers including @ivanduranphoto who was kind enough to let me take photos with him which resulted in this shot here of the beautiful @emchristine18 . .. Cooling things down a bit ❄️ Still experimenting with these @flashgels I got a few weeks ago. Figured I’d go with a 1/2 blue gel on the backlight to try and match the tones of this amazing dress. Almost ran out of lights for this one! .. My parents came to town to visit for the holiday weekend, so naturally I took the opportunity to get them in front of the lens for some interesting portraits.  First up is my father, Henry ("Silver Bullet"). In this image, I experimented with different backdrop color tones using a flash and the MagMod gel system.  The copper dish light is an old Westinghouse heater that I got from a local antique store and retrofit with new wiring, light socket, and a vintage bulb.  The hanging light fixtures were meant to be hardmounted to the ceiling, so I re-wired them to plug into a standard outlet.  The light bulbs themselves were not bright enough for kicker lights, so I added brighter lights outside of the frame to simulate their effect.  Check out the behind the scenes images to see the full lighting setup!  As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.  Enjoy! .. Summer is almost here my friends! While it will be hot and humid AF here in the RGV, I fully intend to continue to experiment with my photography. There are times where I suffer from a temporary creative block of sorts. It is the nature of things, I suppose. But, while at the fork in the road, I know I want to take my photography in a different direction. I want to try and fail because that is the formula for growth.
